Ready, Steady, Grow!! Join the great sunflower race, it's great fun for all the family! Just choose your seeds, note your sowing date and the race is on! Use the tape measure included to find out how fast your Sunflowers are growing.
How to grow the biggest, tallest sunflowers Sow your seeds: March-June Plant your seeds during Mar/Apr into a good quality compost using 7.5cm (3") pots (Fun to Grow pots are ideal). Push one seed in to a depth of 2.5cm (1") for each pot. Water pots, cover with paper and place in a warm, dark place. When the leaves appear, remove paper and place in a warm, light place to grow on. You can also plant seeds direct outside in the garden from late March.

Care of your Sunny Sunflower plants: For really tall Sunflowers, you need to choose a sunny, warm place and then dig in plenty of garden or bagged compost and perhaps some fertiliser. Carefully plant your Sunflowers 30-45cm (12-15") apart in April-July. Keep the plants well watered. Your Sunflowers may need a strong stick for support. Feed the plants every two weeks with liquid fertiliser.

Fun Facts As I grow, I bend to track the movement of the sun across the sky. However when my flower is fully open I generally face the east. Don’t know why, I just do!
