How to grow: Sow the seeds into a tray of moist, firm, quality compost. Cover lightly with further compost and place in a polythene bag to conserve moisture. Place in a warm dark place at around 18-20°C (65-68°F) until germination occurs. At the first sign of germination (12-35 days), remove the bag and reduce the temperature to around 15°C (60°F). Grow on in good light keeping the compost moist. Transplant the seedlings, when large enough to handle, into 9cm (3½") pots Native to Rhodochiton atrosanguineum Mexico This Mexican climber has sensitive leaf stalks which twine round any convenient support. Best grown as an annual, it does well in a conservatory, up a sunny wall or trailing down from a basket. The name comes from ‘Rhodo’, meaning red, and ‘Chiton’, a cloak, referring to the stunning flowers.
