WR JAKE KUMEROW Kumerow posted 226 yards receiving and grabbed three Matt Behrendt passes for touchdowns to lead the Warhawks to a 55-13 win over UW-Stout last Saturday. Kumerow caught 11 passes in the win for an average of 20.5 yards per reception. He accounted for 64% of UW-Whitewater’s passing offense. In the second quarter, Kumerow caught a 29-yard pass for his first touchdown of the game, and less than three minutes later, Behrendt found him again from 12 yards out giving UW-W 27-7 lead. Kumerow’s third touchdown reception of the day, helped Behrendt break the UW-W record for touchdown passes in a game.

LB JOE PAULUS
Williams posted four solo tackles in UW-Whitewater’s 55-13 win over UW-Stout last Saturday. Williams anchored a defense that allowed just 83 yards on the ground. He is currently second on the team with 24 tackles this season.
Paulus recorded four solo tackles including one on a kickoff return in UW-W’s 55-13 win over UW-Stout last week. Paulus played an important role in the special teams crew that allowed just three yards per punt return and less than 20 yards per kick return against the Blue Devils.

OCTOBER 18
october 18, 1969 HOMECOMING VICTORY OVER UW-EAU CLAIRE A crowd of 6,000 gathered at Warhawk Stadium for the annual homecoming game today in 1969 for a matchup against the Blugolds of Eau Claire. Whitewater’s offense produced 459 yards in the game, the defense held EC to 162 and just 26 on the ground. Greg Jones and Leif Fredricksen combined for 148 yards and two touchdowns while fellow halfback Bruce Rasmussen compiled 100 yards on the ground. Quarterback Dennis Zander threw for 143 yards and connected with his favorite target of the game, Mike Dressler, five times for 93 yards including a 32-yard touchdown toss. The Warhawks posted points in each quarter en route to a 29-13 homecoming victory.
OCTOBER 18, 1980 HOMECOMING VICTORY OVER UW-RIVER FALLS Whitewater tallied another homecoming win October 18, 1980. The Falcons of River Falls made the trek to Whitewater for the afternoon game at Warhawk Stadium. The Warhawks took an early 19-0 lead with three scores in the first quarter but were held scoreless for the next two quarters while River Falls came roaring back to take the lead 22-19 at the end of the third. Just three plays into the fourth, facing a third an eight, Whitewater quarterback Doug Brown got the first down and more with a 26 yard scamper for a touchdown to give the Warhawks a 25-22 lead. UW-W’s defense held the lead and secured the Warhawk win. Brown was 10 for 17 with 143 yards and two touchdowns through the air. He got the job done with his feet as well with 84 yards on nine carries and two scores.
