God made a promise to man. God kept His promise. God sent Jesus to save people from their sins.

1. GOD’S PROMISE God made a promise. He promised His people that He would send someone to save them.
Adam and Eve (Genesis 3) God made Adam and Eve. He gave them a beautiful garden and many things. Adam and Eve sinned. They disobeyed God. God sent them out of His beautiful garden. Adam and Eve were very sad.

Isaiah (Isaiah 7:14; 9:6; 11:1–8; and 40:1–11) Many years after Abraham died, God made a promise to His people. God talked to His people through His prophet, Isaiah. God said in Isaiah 7:14, “Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.”

God told His people many other things about the Promised One. God told these things through Isaiah and through His other prophets. God’s prophet Micah told the people where the Promised One would be born (Micah 5:2): “Bethlehem … out of thee shall he come forth … that is to be ruler in Israel.”
