TEACHER INDUSTRIAL ACTION—TUESDAY 5TH JULY 2016 Teachers at Sprites Primary Academy who are members of the NUT will be involved in the planned strike. Due to this, our school will be closed to certain classes. Classes NOT due in on this date are Class 4, Class 6, Class 10 and Class 12. Classes that are due in as normal on this date are Nursery, Class 1, Class 2, Class 3, Class 5, Class 7, Class 8, Class 9, Class 11, Class 13 and Class 14. Unfortunately because of the strike we will now have to cancel Sports Day for Reception, Year 1 and Year 2. The new date for this is Tuesday 12th July at 9.30am, dependant on the weather.

Guitar Performance On Thursday 23rd June 2016, a guitar performance was held in the West Hall for all the children. The guitarist played exceptionally well and everyone was extremely entertained. Everybody liked it when Mr Buctyer (our guitar teacher) played a complex Spanish song. We were all amazed! Thank you to Mr Butcher for teaching all the children to play the guitar. Apologies from EATS Catering Eats are very sorry for delaying the Pick & Mix menu. To apologise they are baking all children a cake today.

School Council Visit the Mayor

Go for Gold Production

On Friday 24th June, School Council went to Ipswich Town Hall to see the Mayor of Ipswich. His name is Roger Fern and he greeted us. We had an opportunity to hold a sword, a silver gilt and the town’s seals. Mr Fern has said we can hold a meeting at the town hall in the future.

A huge well done to all Year 5 and Year 6 children and staff for their hard work in the production. “Go for Gold” was a real success and was enjoyed by all. We had a collection after the performances and raised £137.50 towards school funds.
