DeSales University features highly skilled, experienced and licensed coaches at all of its camps. These coaches are committed to helping young players build skills as well as increase speed and agility. Their philosophy is to encourage a love and understanding of the game and improve overall ability in a fun, safe environment. GEORGE CRAMPTON, camp director, has been the DeSales University head men’s soccer coach for 19 years. He has led the team to five Freedom Conference titles in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2010, and 2017 and into the first round of the NCAA playoffs in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2010, 2011 and 2017. In 2011, the team advanced into the second round for the first time in the program’s history. In 2008, Crampton became the first coach in DeSales University soccer history to record 100+ wins. Named Freedom Conference Coach of the Year in 2004, 2005, 2007, 2011 and 2017, Crampton, a Dublin native, played for the Republic of Ireland Amateur Team. His playing career in the US began at Mercer County Community College where he led the team to the NJCAA National Championship in 1991. In 2010, Crampton was named to the Mercer County Community College Hall of Fame. At Elizabethtown College, he won two MAC Championships and was named MAC MVP in 1994. Twice during his college career he was named an AllAmerican and was named to the Elizabethtown College Athletic Hall of Fame in Spring of 2017. Crampton coached and played at the professional level for the Reading Rage. He holds the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (USC) National, Advanced and Premier Coaching Diplomas, passing all with distinction. He is the Pennsylvania Technical Director and a National Staff Coach for the USC and served as a clinician during their 2011, 2013, and 2017 national convention. He holds the Union of European Football Association “UEFA” A License, the second highest soccer certification in the world. George is the U13 girls coach, and Technical Director, for Western Lehigh Soccer Club where he trains his daughter.
GREG RIDOUT finishes his third season as head coach in the history of DeSales women’s soccer with a Mid-Atlantic Freedom Conference championship and Coach of the Year award. Under Ridout, the Lady Bulldogs received their first ever bid to the NCAA Tournament. Prior to arriving at DeSales, Ridout spent the previous eight years as an assistant coach at several different institutions. He spent two years coaching at North Carolina Wesleyan College as a full-time assistant of the women’s soccer team helping the Battling Bishops improve on a 6-10-1 overall record his first year to a 10-6-3 overall record in his second year on the sidelines. Before NCWC Ridout was an assistant coach for both the men’s and women’s soccer teams at the University of Minnesota-Morris for three years. While at UMM the men’s team won the 2011 UMAC Championship earning the programs first-ever trip to the NCAA Tournament and the women’s team advanced to the conference championship game each of his last two years. He has also served as a volunteer assistant coach for the men’s soccer team at the University of Richmond for one year and as the graduate assistant coach for the men’s soccer team at Lynchburg College for two years. Ridout graduated from Randolph-Macon College in 2007 earning a bachelor of arts in history and later earned a M.Ed. from Lynchburg College in 2009 in educational leadership. Ridout was a four-year letter winner at RMC as a player leading the team in goals scored and total points in three of his four years. The Yellow Jackets were ranked as high as #11 in the NSCAA national rankings and he finished his career with 17 goals, 13 assists, and 47 career points. A native of Chester, VA, Ridout holds an NSCAA National, Advanced National, and Premier Diplomas.

Pick one or all of these day camps for recreational, travel, school and club players ages 5 and up. ELITE TRAVEL BOYS AND GIRLS CAMP Monday, August 6 – Friday, August 10 For the elite soccer athlete, this high-intensity camp will focus on advanced level tactics and techniques. It is recommended for serious travel soccer players, male and female, ages 10 to 17. 4Cost $160 — 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Team Discount — 10 or more in one envelope $140 per camper
