Hurley has 76 career goals to his name for eighth on the all-time list. Lalli has registered 64 career assists, which puts him in a tie for the No. 5 spot on the list. The Raiders remained at No. 14 in LAXnews rankings and moved up to 17th in the LaxPower Forum Poll. THAT’S CLASSY – Senior defenseman John Dunn recently was named one of 20 finalists for the first Lowe’s Senior CLASS Award for men’s lacrosse. The award is presented to an NCAA Division I men’s senior lacrosse player who excels both on and off the field. Dunn is an exception student-athlete for the Raiders. A biology major, he has plans to attend medical school in 2008. He also is an active member of the Colgate community as a Student Athlete Advisory Committee representative and member of Colgate’s Catholic Association. He volunteers for organizations both in the Colgate community and in his hometown outside of Detroit. Dunn has started all but one game for the Raiders at defense for the past three seasons. TOP BOSS – Colgate University head coach Jim Nagle is in his sixth season at the helm of the Colgate lacrosse program. He sports a 49-36 record and is 114-75 in his 10 seasons as a head coach. His 49 victories is the second most by a Colgate men’s lacrosse coach, while his .576 win percentage at Colgate is third. Harvey Potter has the most wins with 80 victories, while Michael Toop (1988-91) has the best win percentage at .708 (34-14). STREAKING – Junior Matt Lalli is riding a 20-game scoring streak, dating back to March 28, 2006. It currently stands as the longest scoring streak of any player in the Patriot League and is 19th in Division I lacrosse. The last time Lalli was held without a point was at Army on March 25, 2006. Since then he has posted at least one point in all 20 contests, scoring 35 goals and 33 assists for 68 points. He has been held without a point just two times in his career and has tallied 36 multiplepoint games in his career. Colgate lost at Cornell, at Navy, at Albany, and to Penn State at a neutral site. The Raiders earned their first road win at Lehigh on April 7. TOUGH PATCH – The Raiders’ schedule over a two-week period was arguably one of the toughest in the nation. Colgate traveled to play No. 4 Navy on March 21 and then to No. 2 Albany on March 27. The squad closed out the stretch against No. 9 Army on March 31. The Raiders went 1-2 in those games, including just a 13-10 loss to Albany. CENTURY MEN – Speaking of Hurley and Lalli climbing the charts. Lalli became a member of the century point club early in the season and has 129 career points. His 129 career points ranks 14th among all current Division I lacrosse players, while his 64 career assists is sixth. Hurley captured his 100th point with three points at No. 4 Navy. He currently has 111 points from 76 goals and 35 assists. THAT’S SPECIAL – Colgate’s special teams have been outstanding this season. The Raiders are tops in the Patriot League in man-up offense. Colgate is 25-for-42 on extra-man opportunities this season for a .595 scoring percentage. That currently is the best percentage in NCAA Division I lacrosse history since the NCAA started tracking statistics in 1971. The Raiders have tallied at least one man-up goal in 10 of the 12 contests, including a season-high five against Hartford and No. 4 Navy. ANNAPOLIS, Md.—Fourth-ranked Navy jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first quarter and never looked back as it upended Colgate, 15-10. William Wallace and Basil Daratsos both had four goals for the Midshipmen, while sophomore Kevin Colleluori had a game-high five goals for the Raiders. The Raiders got a goal and two assists from sophomore Brandon Corp, senior Brendan Hurley, and junior Matt Lalli. Ian Dingman had three goals and an assist for Navy, while Billy Looney added three helpers and one goal. Navy jumped all over the Raiders going ahead 3-0 in the first 2:39 of the game with two goals from Daratsos. Navy added two more goals six seconds apart later in the quarter for a 5-0 lead after the first. The Raiders came out of the break looking to make a run of their own. William Wallace put the Mids in front 6-0, but Colgate junior Josh Back stopped the run two minutes later when he sent a shot into the lower left corner of the net. Nick Monastero added a score 57 seconds later with an assist from Jeff Hiller. Colleluori made it a three-goal game two minutes later. Ian Dingman put Navy up by four again, 7-3, at the 5:02 mark. Wallace and Billy Looney hooked up 1:25 later with a man-up goal to go in front, 8-3. Corp fired a pass from behind the cage to Hurley who whipped the ball into the back of the net. That would be as close as the Raiders could get as Navy scored four unanswered to start the third quarter and headed into the final period with a 13-6 advantage. The Raiders scored three of the first four goals in the fourth session, but it was too little too late. In goal, Tim Harrington played the majority of the game, making a career-high 13 saves. Sophomore Brian Cain made two stops in 16:25 of action. Finnegan made 12 saves for the Midshipmen. SCORE BY PERIOD Colgate University Navy

ALBANY, N.Y.—Colgate freshman goaltender Tim Harrington made a career-high 21 saves as the Raiders fell to second-ranked Albany, 13-10, in men’s lacrosse action. Sophomore Brandon Corp scored a careerhigh four goals and five points for the Raiders, while Merrick Thomson had a game-high five goals for the Great Danes. The Raiders fell behind by early as the Great Danes scored a pair of goals just 3:16 into the game. Colgate dominated possession for much of the next 10 minutes, but was unable to find the back of the net. With just over a minute remaining in the first quarter, Albany’s Mike Ammann made it a 3-0 after the first session. Brendan Hurley opened the second quarter with a bang for the Raiders as he slipped a shot past the near post to make it 3-1. Albany came right back two minutes later with a tally from Mike Ammann. After some back and forth action over the next four minutes, Corp took a restart and beat the Albany goaltender with a rifle to make it a 4-2 game. Albany and Colgate traded scores in the next 31 seconds to make it a 5-3 game. The furious scoring pace continued a minute later with a Colgate goal from Matt Lalli. Albany closed out the half on a strong note, taking a two-goal lead, 6-4, off of a Thomson score. Steve Ammann assisted on the tally. The third quarter proved deadly for the Raiders as the Great Dane defense stifled Colgate. The Raiders struggled on offense as Albany scored three unanswered for a 9-4 lead after three. The Great Danes outshot Colgate 16-2 in the third frame. The Raiders opened the fourth stanza like the second, getting a goal from Back to make it a 9-5 contest. Albany, however, responded by scoring four of the next six goals for a 13-7 lead with four minutes left to play. Albany held off the Raiders as they scored three unanswered in the final three minutes.
HAMILTON, N.Y.—Colgate’s Brandon Corp scored a game-high four goals and had five points to lead the Raiders to a 9-7 victory over ninth-ranked Army. The Raiders outscored the Black Knights 4-1 in the fourth quarter, including 3-0 in the final seven minutes. Junior Matt Lalli added two goals and an assist for Colgate, while three other players tallied one goal. Seven different players scored for the Black Knights with Justin Bokmeyer being the lone multiple-point scorer with three points. The game was a tight affair throughout the entire 60 minutes as there were four lead changes and five ties. Neither team led by more than two goals in the contest. Lalli got things started just 2:30 into the first quarter with a man-up goal. Kevin LoRusso tied the score for Army seven minutes. The Raiders and Black Knights traded goals to start the second quarter before Colgate scored a pair to go in front 4-3 at the halftime break. Corp made it 5-3 just 1:38 into the third quarter with an assist from Lalli. The Black Knights responded with three unanswered to head into the thrilling fourth quarter ahead, 6-5. It was Corp striking again to start the fourth quarter to tie the game at six. Army went ahead again at the 9:31 mark , but that would be it for the Black Knights. With 7:38 left to play, Lalli dodged his defender and scored to start Colgate’s three-goal run. Coming out of a timeout at 5:33, Corp got the ball and curled around the back of the goal and fired home a shot for an 8-7 Colgate lead. The Raiders nearly mirrored that goal as Army sent Fullerton out of the goal to double-team. Sophomore Will Planer got the ball and raced to the empty net to seal the victory for the Raiders. In goal, Tim Harrington made eight saves, while Adam Fullerton had just three for Army.

HAMILTON, N.Y.—Colgate University senior Chris Eck won a season-high 18-of-22 faceoffs and picked up a career-high 12 groundballs as the Raiders earned a key 10-8 victory at Lehigh. Sophomore Brandon Corp led all scorers with three goals and an assist. Colgate got three points from three other players in the win as senior Jeff Hiller and sophomore Nick Monastero tallied two goals and an assist and junior Matt Lalli had a goal and two helpers. Stephen Marino led all Lehigh scorers with one goal and three assists, while David Gaunt had a team-high three tallies. The first quarter featured a furious scoring pace as Colgate took a 4-3 lead into the first break. The scoring slowed down in the second quarter as the two squads combined for just three goals and went into halftime tied, 5-5. Senior Brendan Hurley opened the quarter with his 18th goal of the season before Lehigh’s Gaunt and Marino scored goals 1:28 apart to tie the game at the break. Colgate’s Kevin Colleluori fired home a Joshua Back pass to put the Raiders in front 6-5 at the 9:09 mark of the third quarter. Ricky Cornetta tied the game two minutes later, but Colgate closed out the quarter with two goals to head into the final quarter in front, 8-6. Lehigh made things interesting in the fourth quarter by tallying two goals to tie the game, 8-8, with 5:06 left to play. Looking like the game might go into overtime like each of the past two seasons, the Raiders ended their 15-minute scoring drought with 2:58 to play. The Raiders forced a Lehigh turnover and called a timeout with 3:10 left on the clock. Coming out of the timeout, Back found Corp who beat Lehigh goalie Eric Spirko for the game winner. Lalli sealed the victory 42 seconds later. In goal, freshman Tim Harrington finished with seven saves, including three in the fourth quarter. Spirko also had seven saves in the contest. HAMILTON, N.Y.—Matt Lalli and Brandon Corp combined for seven goals and three assists to lead Colgate to a 12-6 win over Binghamton. Sophomore Kevin Colleluori also had a hat trick for the Raiders, while six other players had at least one point. Matt McNamara led all Binghamton scorers with two goals. The two squads traded goals throughout the first quarter with Colgate notching the final score with 2:25 left for a 3-2 lead at the first break. Senior Brendan Hurley added a man-up score just over a minute later to make it a 5-2 Colgate lead. Corp and Lalli both added a goal apiece to increase the margin to five goals. Binghamton’s Andy Cook cut the lead back to four, 7-3, at the half after stopping the Raiders’ five-goal run with an unassisted score with one tick on the clock. The Colgate defense continued to stifle Binghamton’s attack in the third quarter as the Raiders added two more goals to go in front 9-3 with two minutes remaining in the frame. With less than a minute remaining, Jeff Rurey took advantage of a Colgate penalty to pull the Bearcats within five going into the fourth quarter. Binghamton made it a four-goal game twice in the final quarter, but Colgate scored a pair in the final 2:30 to seal the 12-6 victory. Binghamton held a 33-24 advantage on shots, while the groundballs were even at 27. The Bearcats won 12-of-21 faceoffs, but were just 9-of-15 on clears. The Raiders scored seven consecutive goals through the second and third quarters to cruise to the win. Matt Lalli added four points off of one goal and three assists, while senior Jeff Hiller had two goals and an assist. Sophomores Kevin Colleluori and Brandon Corp both registered two scores. Coming out of the first break tied at one, the Leopards pounced on Colgate by scoring a pair of unanswered tallies for a 3-1 lead with 7:45 remaining until halftime. That was all the Raiders needed to wake them up as they went on a seven-goal streak, including scoring the half’s final five for a 6-3 lead at the break. Hurley got things started at the 6:19 mark and then added another score two minutes later to even the score at three. Corp and Colleluori found the back of the net just 41 seconds apart to give Colgate a 5-3 lead and Corp added one to the scoreboard with 1:07 left for a 6-3 lead at halftime.
