2009 TCNJ Senior Reflections The College of New Jersey thanks this exceptional group of senior football players for their competitive efforts and fine representation as studentathletes of this institution. They have amassed a record of 21-19 since 2006. Several players were members of the 2007 New Jersey Athletic cochampionship team that earned a NCAA tournament victory over RPI and set a school record with seven consecutive wins that season. Below is their thoughts on the impact football and TCNJ has made on their lives. #23 Erik Hendrickson - WR – Belvidere, NJ/Belvidere “Winning games is only half of the battle in playing football. The other and equally important half is overcoming the struggles through the seasons and working as a team. We’re not wolves or sheep, we’re Lions and proud of it.”

#7 Marc Zucconi – P/K - Marlton, NJ (Holy Cross) “Football has meant a great deal to me. After transferring into TCNJ from the University of Louisville I was unsure if I would ever fall in love with the sport again. But shortly into my junior year, the TCNJ community and football team accepted me and I have never looked back.”

#14 Cam Richardson – WR - Burlington, NJ/Burlington Township “Football has given me the world since I was a kid. It’s not only given me the thrilling sensation of competition, but it’s shaped who I am today and blessed me with friends and memories that I’ll never forget, and for that, I will always be grateful for this great game.”

#10 Justin Beres – DB - Galloway, NJ/Holy Spirit “Words can’t explain the impact football has had on my life. God has given me the ability to play this game, and I have cherished every moment of it. I am grateful for the relationships and memories that I have been a part of throughout my football career at TCNJ.”

#4 Chris James – QB - Brick, NJ/Brick Memorial “The connection between you and your teammates is the best element of football because we do everything together and we are not just friends, we are a family. The times on and off the field with my teammates is what I’ll always remember after my last game.”

#74 Evan Arfuso –OL - Dumont, NJ/Dumont “I am fortunate to have been able to continue playing football as a TCNJ Lion. It has greatly enriched my college experience, although not for the faint of heart. The lessons learned through football extend beyond the field. I will never forget the friendships formed with my teammates. Thanks for everything!”

#64 Andrew Mason – OL - Freehold, NJ/Red Bank Catholic “TCNJ Football is more than a team, it’s a family. I’m going to miss working every day beside

my teammates … my brothers. I consider myself lucky for having had the opportunity to play this great sport for four years with these guys.”

#8 Mark Gardner – WR - Flemington, NJ/Bishop Dunne(TX) “Football has meant a great deal to me. It has not only built some of the best relationships I will have for the rest of my life, but has taught me to work hard day in and day out in whatever it is that you do. Football has taught me to not have excuses, and to figure out any way that I can get the job done. I appreciate TCNJ football, and will never forget it.”

#76 Andrew Ross – OL - Egg Harbor City, NJ/Absegami “TCNJ Football is more than a team, it’s a family. I’m going to miss working every day beside my teammates… my brothers. I consider myself lucky for having had the opportunity to play this great sport for four years with these guys.”

#67 Terry Woolverton –DL - Ewing, NJ/Ewing “My choice to transfer and play football for Coach Hamilton and the Lions was one of the best decisions I have ever made. My friendships, game-play, and overall experience have been great. The Lions football coaches, players, and program have shown me that change can be a great thing.Thank You all!”

#52 Craig Meyer – LB - Far Hills, NJ/Bernards “My days on the football field are coming to a close.Without such experiences I would not be the person I am today. Buckling my helmet for the first time in high school began the series of life lessons and teachings which have molded me into a better man. I will miss that “good soreness” the days following a game. The moments I shared on the field with my team mates and coaches will be cherished for the rest of my life”

#83 Colin Weber – WR - Scotch Plains, NJ/Scotch Plains-Fanwood “I’m thankful for the opportunity I had to play football here at TCNJ. It has been a great experience on and off of the field. Playing football here has allowed me to create some of my best friends and memories that I will never forget.”

3 Chase Misiura – RB – Holmdel, NJ/Holmdel “It does not matter how many times you get knocked down, but how many times you get up. Being defeated is often a temporary condition. Giving up is what makes it permanent.”

#17 Bill Picatagi – WR/QB – Hamilton, NJ/Hamilton West “Football has taught me that if you take care of your responsibilities and your teammates take care of theirs, you can accomplish great things together. It’s also taught me how to lead without being too aggressive or too lenient. Football has been a great part of my life as long as I can remember.”
