Starred in three sports. Was a starting halfback on the football team his only year playing football. Played 4 years of baseball. Ran track his junior and senior years in high school. Contracted with the San Francisco Seals baseball team after graduating from high school. Was offered football scholarships by Stanford, Cal, Washington and Santa Clara, but was told by the SF Seals that he could not play football. Was drafted into the armed service in ʼ42 and played football and baseball for the 101st Signal Battalion where he played against Joe DiMaggio
Two-time winner of the Streepy Trophy as the MVP of the football team in 1956 and 1957. Selected First Team All-League his senior season of football. Rushed for 592 yards and threw for 418 yards to lead Wildcats to 6-2 record his senior year. As a junior outfielder in baseball he hit .348 and was named first team All-League. Senior season of baseball he pitched and played shortstop, hitting .259 and making second team all-league. Started on the basketball team and ran sprints on the track team. Won the Panighetti Award, LGHS outstanding athlete, his senior year.

All League defensive back as a junior. Moved to running back as a senior and won 1st team All-League honors. Was named MVP of the football team his senior season as well as All CCS. Was Frosh-Soph League MVP in baseball. Played varsity baseball his junior year only due to injury, batting .400 and setting the single season total bases record. Was named MVP of the Lions Club Easter Baseball Tournament. Team MVP, All conference and All State pitcher at Cabrillo Junior College. Transferred to San Jose State where he set single season home run record with 13. Drafted and signed by the Texas Rangers.
Played three years of varsity football. Was first team All-League in football both his junior and senior seasons, winning High School All America Honors his senior year. Was named team captain in the North-South Shrine Football game in 1972. As a varsity wrestler he was undefeated in League. Awarded an athletic scholarship to UC Berkeley. Was a three-year varsity starter in football at UC Berkeley. Played 2 years of professional football for the Dallas Cowboys under legendary coach Tom Landry in 1977 and 1978.

Played #1 singles in tennis her junior and senior years. Team captain in tennis her senior season. WVAL Player of the Year in basketball her senior year.. Named first team All-CCS in basketball her senior year. Was leagueʼs highest scorer her senior year with 234 points, averaging 15.6 points per game. Named Honorable Mention, Converse AllAmerican Basketball Team in 1979. Started her junior and senior years as the third baseman on the softball team. Awarded Bruce Jenner Scholarship in spring of 1979.
Set school record in the mile (4:13.4) in 1981 that still stands today. Set League Mile Record in 1981 that still holds today. Set the school record in the 2-mile. Held the Helm Field mile record for 21 years. Was #1 runner on the best Cross Country team in school history that won CCS, Northern California and State Championships in 1980. League cross country champion in 1980 along with All-CCS and All State. Varsity team MVP in cross country both his junior and senior seasons. Varsity team MVP his senior year of track. At one time held 5 school records. Attended UC Berkeley on track scholarship.

Selected All Northern California as a defensive back in football. Was All CCS Defensive Back. Most Valuable Player in WVAL, outstanding Defensive Back and First Team Tight End on offense. Was football team MVP and Captain in 1982 being named to play in the Santa Clara County All Star Football game. Was First team all league baseball player. Was team MVP his senior season in baseball. Led baseball team in total bases and extra base hits both his junior and senior years. Was named Outstanding Junior Athlete of the Year in 1982 and Outstanding Senior Athlete of the Year in 1983.
Played 4 years of Varsity soccer. Was team MVP in soccer 3 of the 4 years and was both team captain and MVP her senior season. All CCS in soccer her senior season. Led girls soccer team to three league championships and the quarterfinals of CCS tournament three times. Played 4 years of field hockey, 3 on varsity.. Was MVP of Field Hockey team her senior season. Played 4 years of varsity softball. Named team MVP in softball in 1982. Earned a soccer scholarship to Santa Clara University. Was named Division 1 First Team All-American both her junior and senior seasons at SCU.

1994 LGHS Senior Male Athlete of the Year. Played four seasons of varsity water polo, was first team all league all four years and was team MVP in each of his last three seasons. Led the water polo team to an undefeated season his senior year scoring 128 goals, averaging an incredible 6 goals per game. Placed in the top 3 in league in at least four events all four years as a varsity swimmer. His senior year swimming placed 1st in League in 100 Butterfly, 1st in 100 Breast, 1st in Medley Relay and 1st in the 400 Free Relay. His senior season he finished with a 2nd and 3 3rd place finishes at CCS. Went on to play 4 years of varsity water polo at Bucknell University
He was a three-year varsity starter in basketball earning first team all league honors all three years. First team All CCS his senior year. The only LGHS basketball player ever to be named first team all CCS. Holds school record for most points in a single season (557). Named All-League both his junior and senior years of volleyball. West Catholic League First Team all league volleyball player 1996. Blossom Valley League volleyball MVP 1997. 1997 CCS Player of the Year in volleyball. Led 1997 Wildcats to 20-0 mark and first ever CCS Boys Volleyball Championship.

1999 CROSS COUNTRY, SOCCER, GOLF Member of the CCS Championship Cross Country team in 1998. Parade All American high school soccer player 1998 and 1999. Varsity starter on soccer team all 4 years and elected first team all league all four years. First team All -CCS in soccer in both 1998 and 1999. Won CCS in golf three straight seasons (199799). nd Finished 2 in Northern California in Golf 1998. 1999 Female Athlete of the Year at LGHS. While attending Stanford University she earned All American Honors in two sports, golf and soccer Was the leading scorer for the US soccer team in the 1999 Pan American Games
