GJB Cheerleading Statement CHEERLEADING = TEAM SPORT Cheerleading takes a “TEAM” of athletes to be successful; this means we expect and demand that parents and cheerleaders all understand that the success of our squads depends on every athlete giving 110% effort, and not just the efforts of a few.

Extenuating circumstance may occur to deviate from the following guidelines. Not prepared for practices, games or competitions (includes having long nails/painted nails, wearing jewelry, not in full uniform, not dressed in appropriate practice clothes/shoes, all hair (including bangs) is not in a high ponytail & no water bottle. a. Girls will not be able to participate or will sit out until situation is remedied. b. Will be counted as a missed practice or tardy. Unsportsmanlike conduct will NOT be tolerated. This includes use of foul language or gestures, Verbal or Physical abuse towards teammates, coaches or Jr. Coaches, excessive disturbances during practices or games, & texting-face bookMySpace-tweeting unsportsmanlike like comments about coaches or teammates. a. Cheerleader will be asked to sit out of the practice/game b. Parents will be notified prior to the return of the cheerleader with written warning or write up (parent signature will be required) c. Could be counted as a missed practice. d. May result in removal from the squad. Being Late to Practice (more than 15 minutes). a. Three times being late will equal one unexcused absence. b. Two unexcused late arrivals of thirty minutes or more will be considered as one unexcused absence/missed practice. c. May be required to sit out of that practice. Practices and Games. a. A missed practice (excused or unexcused) during the week of a competition may result in removal from that competition. b. Summer attendance policy: No more than 4 missed practices will be allowed between 7/6 and 8/23 without consequence. Anything more could affect their placement within the competition routine. c. Practices are mandatory beginning the week school starts d. 4 or more unexcused/missed practices or games may result in removal from the squad. Competitions are mandatory (not including State) if you miss you may be removed from the squad. Bullying – GJB Cheer has zero tolerance in regards to this, any member found to be involved in bullying of another member of the GJB Cheer organization may be removed immediately from the program at the board’s discretion.
