November 2013

FROM THE PRESIDENT. . . . . . . October is my favorite month; hate to see it come to an end. The weather has been beautiful except for our Year End Business Meeting / Outing. We still gathered for a nice lunch and to recognize all of the wonder ladies who have volunteered over the year. Thank you to Sharon Geier, Michelle Robinson and their committee for coordinating the event at Greene Country Club. This year my schedule allowed me to participate in the Weekend Golf Get-A-Way. What a blast! We sang and danced our way around the golf course. Cheryl Davis and Becky Rogers provided some entertainment with their trick shot on the course. Linda Williams, Glenda Taylor, Tara Hudson and Jeannie Joyce planned a wonderful weekend. I’m looking forward to next year! Our off season Happy Hours are in full swing. We had a great turn out at Abuelos. Mark your calendar and join us for November’s gathering on the 20th at Bonefish Grill. Guests are welcome! Do you enjoy the Happy Hours and off season activities? Do you have about 1 hour a month free? Consider planning the events. Please let me know if you are interested. See everyone at Bonefish Grill!

YEAR END EVENT The End of Year outing "Going for the Greene" to celebrate our 2013 season took place at Greene Country Club on October 6. It was our first time there and everyone was excited to try out the course. Unfortunately, Mother Nature had other plans. We were rained out. However, GCC generously provided rain checks good for 18 holes if played before 12/31/2013 or for 9 holes if played before 10/6/2014. The luncheon/business meeting was still a fun time and enjoyed by those able to attend, as recognitions were given to volunteers and special event winners. A BIG thank you to my committee for this event: Michele Robinson, Co -chair; Claire Cyr; Ann Burnett; Jean Engle. Thanks also to Ben Stewart, PGA Golf Pro (and new father of twins!) and Paul Mussolino, Food & Beverage Manager. In addition, thanks to Berns Garden Center for their continued support by providing the beautiful centerpieces again. The beautiful mums were humongous this time! They went home with some lucky door prize winners. See you at the off-season Happy Hours! Sharon Geier
