2014 CLIFF EDGE CABERNET SAUVIGNON Winemaking note

Tasting note

Often the last vineyard to be picked at Mount Langi, our Cabernet Sauvignon has a long ripening period to produce the complex tannin and fruit balance.

Colour

The 2014 Cliff Ed ge Cabernet Sauvignon showcases distinct Grampians regional character with classic varietal charm reflective of Langi’s cool climate. Sourced from Cabernet vines up to 50 years of age. The 2014 vintage provided good conditions for grape growing, with a dry and reasonably warm season. Due to a cold snap in spring the crops were low yielding resulting in high quality fruit with intense flavours and complexity.

Crimson with purple hues

Aromas Intense cherry and black currant fruits with notes of spiced plum are matched with spices of dried herbs and lavender. Palate Luscious black currant and cherry fruits transcend on the palate, with hints of cedar and peppercorn spice. Enriched with seductive dark chocolate tannins and a fine backbone of acidity providing length.
