Widener University Head Baseball Coach Mike LaRosa cordially invites you to participate in the 2015 Elite Fall Baseball Camp for high school players, grades 9 through 12. The goal of this camp is to offer fundamental instruction provided by the Widener University Baseball Coaching Staff. Enrollment will be limited in order to maximize player’s instruction and evaluations.          

Tentative Schedule 8:30am - Registration 9:00am – Dynamic Warmup 9:15am – Speed / Agility Training 9:30am – Throwing Progressions 9:45am – Defensive Skill Work 11:00am – Offensive Skill Work 12:15pm – Lunch (please bring your own lunch) 12:45pm – Stretch & Warm-up 1:00pm – Controlled Scrimmage 4:00pm – Camp Conclusion

Bob LaRosa, representing Keystone Recruiting, will be giving a seminar during the camps lunch break, at which time he will address the college recruiting process and hold a Q&A session for all parents. Rob Rabena M.S., C.S.C.S, Director of Sports Performance at Maplezone Sports Institute, will be taking the players through a dynamic warm-up and speed/agility training session at the beginning of the camp.

Directions to the University FROM PHILADELPHIA Take I-95 South to I-476 North and MacDade Boulevard. Turn west onto MacDade Boulevard and follow the Widener University sign. After three traffic lights, MacDade Boulevard becomes East 22nd Street. At the fourth traffic light, turn left onto Providence Avenue, Route 320 South, and follow the Widener University sign. Turn left onto East 14th Street into the main entrance of the University. FROM WESTERN AND NORTHERN PENNSYLVANIA Follow the Pennsylvania Turnpike to Exit 331A, I-476. Take I-476 South toward Chester to Exit 1 (MacDade Boulevard). Turn west onto MacDade Boulevard and follow the Widener University sign. After three traffic lights, MacDade Boulevard becomes East 22nd Street. At the fourth traffic light, turn left onto Providence Avenue, Route 320 South, and follow the Widener University sign. Turn left onto East 14th Street into the main entrance of the University.

Dr. Jon Sabol, Physical Therapist from The Training Room Physical Therapy, will be on-site to answer any questions and will be lecturing on specific injury prevention and performance enhancements in baseball athletes.

Refund Policy: We do not offer refunds for cancellations within 2 weeks of the camp date. We can, however, apply a credit to a future camp.

Camp Director Mike LaRosa is entering his 5th season as the Head Coach at Widener University, after guiding the Pride to back-to-back appearances in the MAC Commonwealth Conference championship game, as well as back-to-back 25+ win seasons and the 2015 ECAC Southeast Regional Championship! Named the 2014 MAC Commonwealth Conference Coach of the Year, LaRosa led the 2014 squad to an alltime program record for overall wins, en route to claiming the MAC Commonwealth Conference Title and finishing just 2 wins shy of reaching the DIII College World Series! During his four seasons at Widener, LaRosa has mentored 16 All-Conference selections and 6 All-Region picks. He has also seen over 25 of his players named to the Academic AllConference Honor Roll in this short period of time. As a player, LaRosa was a 4-year starter and 2-year captain of the baseball team at West Chester University, where he won All-Conference Accolades all 4 years. LaRosa was also a recipient of the 2003 DII National Defensive Player of the Year Award. Furthermore, in 2005 he was awarded West Chester University’s Most Outstanding Male Athlete and Most Outstanding Student-Athlete awards. He was also named a top 10 award winner as one of the Most Scholarly Athletes in the PSAC Conference. Following graduation, Coach LaRosa extended his playing career into professional baseball, where he was a member of the New Haven County Cutters in the Can-Am Independent Baseball League. Coach LaRosa possesses a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from West Chester University and a Master’s Degree in Sports Management from Neumann University.
