ABOUT THE CAMP The Prospect Workout Camp will give players the opportunity to go through a pro-style workout in front of the Methodist coaching staff. The players will run the sixty and go through an offensive and defensive workout. There will also be a defensive and offensive instructional session. Pitchers will go through drill work, flatgrounds, arm care and bullpens.
The Staff TOM AUSTIN - Head Coach
The Hitting Camp will strictly teach all phases of the swing. Each camper will get 100 plus swings, and a thorough understanding of our hitting mechanics and philosophy.
Coach Austin has coached baseball at Methodist University for 35 years. During that time, he has been selected Coach of the Year in the DIAC/USA South Athletic Conference 11 times---1980, 1982, 1984, 1986,1989, 1996, 1998, 2002, 2005, 2006 and 2015. He has also been honored as the South Region Coach of the Year seven times. His teams have appeared in 23 NCAA Tournaments and have also claimed 15 conference championships. Thirty-seven of his players have been named All-Americans and 22 have gone on to play professionally.

SPENCER MARTIN - Assistant Coach
THE FACILITIES Camps are conducted on Armstrong-Shelley Field, the home of Monarch baseball. An auxiliary practice field is also utilized during the camp. INSURANCE Methodist University will provide supplemental accident insurance (not to include illness) for injuries that might occur during the camp activities- first dollar coverage, no deductible.
Spencer Martin enters his fifth year as an assistant coach for the Monarchs. His duties include serving as the pitching coach and head coach of the developmental team. Martin has coached one D3baseball. com All-American, one ABCA All-American, three ABCA All-Region, eight USA South All-Conference and two USA South All-Tournament Team pitchers in his four seasons in charge of the pitching staff.
