1913 Series Vermentino 2015 Varietal: Vermentino Vineyard Region: Riverina, New South Wales, Australia Vintage conditions: Mild and cool conditions were present for the majority of Spring which allowed for even and healthy growth. A warm Summer and late rain events in February slowed down the ripening process allowing for greater flavour development. Vermentino was picked later than other white varieties to allow the fruit to reach optimal maturity. Colour: Pale straw with a green hue. Aroma: A floral and lemon myrtle nose with subtle notes of spice and garden herbs. Palate: A soft, creamy and medium bodied wine with fresh citrus and tropical fruits flavours. A spicy mid-palate provides great balance to the long and refreshing finish. Vinification and maturation: Harvested in the cool of the night to retain the gentle aromatics of the variety, the fruit was carefully crushed to press with the free run juice quickly cold settled to barrel fermentation. Once dry, the wine was matured on yeast lees in barrel for eight months. The resulting wine was blending and refined before bottling. Alcohol: 13.0% Residual Sugar (g/L): 1.47 pH: 3.28 Acidity: 6.4 g/L
