Northeastern (4-12, 1-3) had its only good scoring opportunity of the first half in the 16th minute when sophomore Kristin Abreu fired a shot from the middle of the circle that Pride goalie Lauren Saltus had to kick away to keep the game scoreless. Saltus would finish with four saves in the contest to post her second straight CAA victory after a 9-0 blanking of Towson on October 11. Hofstra got on the board at the 23:56 mark when Marin Samper deflected a shot by junior Colby Hussong into the left corner of the goal for a 1-0 lead. It was Marin Samper's leagueleading 16th goal of the season. The Pride finished the half outshooting the Huskies, 4-1 with Northeastern junior goalie

Becky Garner making two saves in the first 35 minutes. The Pride boosted the lead to 2-0 just 10:15 into the second half following a penalty corner. Marin Samper inserted the ball which was stopped by senior Leigh Maxwell-Smith. Senior Charlotte Loehr then passed the ball to her left to sophomore Simca Schoen, who fired a high drag shot past Garner. It was Schoen's 11th goal of the season. Hofstra added an insurance goal in the 52nd minute on a transition, 3-on-3 rush for the Pride with Marin Samper firing a shot the deflected off a Northeastern stick and into the goal for her second tally of the game and 17th of the season. Simca Schoen was also help secure the shutout by making a big defensive save at the right post, off a shot by senior Vanessa Pryor, in the 67th minute. The Pride outshot the Huskies, 14-9 in the game including 10-8 in the second half. Hofstra took four penalty corners to Northeaster's three. October 25 - vs. Drexel, 3-2 W OT Hempstead, NY – The Schoen sisters accounted for all three Pride goals including sophomore Simca Schoen's 12th of the year just 1:49 into the first overtime to give the Hofstra Pride a 3-2 Colonial Athletic Association victory over the Drexel Dragons at the Hofstra Field Hockey Stadium Sunday afternoon. The victory clinches a spot for the Pride in the fourteam, CAA Field Hockey Championship to be held on November 6-8. Hofstra, which won its third consecutive game and its 11th in the last 12 contests, improves to 13-4 on the season and 3-1 in the CAA. The 13 wins are the most by a Hofstra team since 2011 when the Pride finished 13-9. Simca Schoen notched her 12th goal of the year less than two minutes into the extra period off a penalty corner during the 7x7 session. Junior Claudia Marin Samper inserted the corner to senior Charlotte Loehr who passed to her left to Schoen. The sophomore dribbled in before firing a shot past Drexel goalie Erin Gilchrist (3 saves) for the game-winner. On Senior Day and the Pride's last home game of the season, Hofstra jumped out to a 2-0 lead after 31 minutes. Junior Stella Schoen opened the scoring at the 14:32 mark off a penalty corner with Marin Samper and senior Leigh Maxwell-Smith assisting. It was her career-best 13th goal of the year. Four minutes before the end of the half, Stella Schoen notched her second of the game and 14th of the season on an identical penalty corner with Marin Samper and Maxwell-Smith again assisting on the goal. Hofstra outshot the Dragons, 7-4 in the first half. While most of the action was in the middle-third of the field in the second half, the Dragons were able to score twice in the final 35 minutes to send the contest into overtime. Drexel closed the deficit in half just 4:07 into the second half as senior Lauren Hibshman scored on a penalty stroke after Pride goalie Lauren Saltus (1 save) was whistled for giving a sliding tackle on a Dragon attacker on the side of the goal. It was Hibshman's third goal of the season. The Dragons tied the game in the 54th minute when sophomore Alison McCardell

deflected a shot in front of the goal by freshman Lindsay Boernet for her second goal of the year.
