VIKING ELEMENTARY Cost: $10 (includes t-shirt) Registration deadline is May 6th to guarantee t-shirt Viking Youth Soccer is looking for players born 2002 – 2007 to commit to select teams for fall and spring sessions. Players not wishing to travel extensively will have the option to play local games through the VYSA Classic program (rosters size permitting). Players are required to have shin guards & soccer socks, cleats, water, and lots of energy! ** 2002 - 2005 birth years: Attendance for two sessions is required to be considered for Select Team roster spot **2006 - 2007 birth years: Attend at least one date to be considered for team placement.
FAQWhy the change to birth year versus grade year? Beginning with the 2016-2017 soccer year; US Youth Soccer will implement the best practice of calendar year age grouping for player registration for sanctioned US Youth Soccer competitions. Teams will be formed based on birth year to comply with these US Youth Soccer changes, (players born in 2005 are considered U12 for the 2016-2017 season). How much travel is involved? - Each Fall and Spring season are 4 – 5 out of town weekend tournaments. Tournament games are generally Saturday and Sunday. Registration Fees are between $300-$325 for each session plus travel and uniform costs. Can my son /daughter only play one season (Fall or Spring)? –If an offer is accepted to a Select team the commitment is Fall and Spring. However, the Viking Soccer Classic program allows players to play either fall or spring if desired. th
When will players be notified? - Team offers for 2004 to 2007 birth year players will be no earlier than June 17 , 6pm. Team th offers for 2002 and 2003 birth years will be no earlier than June 24 , 6pm. Once notified, the player will have time to accept or reject the team offer.
