President – Clarence Nelson Vice President – Shane Tiedemann Treasurer – James Rehman (as above) Secretary – Kayla Bernardin I would like to stay on the board as secretary for East Park Little League because I have enjoyed the challenges and joys that have come with the position thus far. I also really enjoy the tasks I have been assigned and would enthusiastically take on more if that was needed. I have met lots of great people and learned so much about the game that I would not have if it were not for this opportunity. It’s a great feeling to be involved in the community and it makes me happy to see not only mine, but everyone’s children develop a love for the game and learn so much about teamwork and unity. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your organization this past season and I hope to continue my involvement next season and seasons to come! Thank you, Sincerely Kayla.

e. Player Agent – Nathalie Michaud My name is Nathalie Michaud and I am the player agent for the 2016 season. To summarize the 2016 season we had a total of 275 players registered to play with East Park this year. An increase of 105 players compare to 2015. Thanks Blue Jays!! It was our first year with the online registration combined with our regular in person registration. The online registration was a great success with more than 60% of our registration done online. We will use this method again for sure next year as well as the in person registration format. With 275 players we were able to make: 1 Senior team 2 Junior teams 2 Major teams 4 Minor teams 4 Minor AA team 12 t-ball teams divided between Kiniski Gardens and Terrace Heights The All Star tryouts are almost done. We should have one team in each division (Minor AA, Minor, Major and Junior) to represent East Park at the City Championship at the end of June. All of this will not be possible without all the volunteers especially the coaches who are giving their time to make sure our kids learn and enjoy playing ball. Big thanks to all of you. I hope the players enjoyed their season as much as did. See you all next baseball season. Thanks Nathalie

TBall Director – Penny Boland 2016 T-Ball/Minor AA Year End Report This season we had a huge increase in our T-Ball program. We had a total of 113 players spilt between our Northside and Southside teams. We had 41 players for our Minor AA/Rookie program. 63 players spilt into 7 teams played at Kiniski Gardens. 50 players spilt into 5 teams played at Terrace Heights. 41 players spilt into 4 teams played at Terrace Heights. Our T-Ball numbers have doubled this year and our Minor AA/Rookie numbers stayed the same. This year we made some big changes to our T-Ball program. We painted the baselines, added outs, and played positions including catchers. I tried to make it out a couple times this season to speak with the coaches. From what they said, they were enjoying the changes and the kids were having fun. We did, once again, have our camps at Concordia College. They had a great turn out. A huge thank you to our President Clarence for doing an amazing job with the kids. Also, thank you to the parents who helped at each camp. Our ‘Meet the Coach’ event was once again a great time. We had our hotdog vendor out, the coaches had a chance to meet their teams and give out the hats, jerseys and schedules. Thank you Julie for booking the vendor. This season we only sent our Minor AA/Rookie teams to the NEZ tournament. I know there were a few issues but overall the kids had fun. I chose not to send our T-Ball players as we were trying to make changes to our program and I felt it would be confusing to the kids. I want to say a big thank you to the parents for bringing your children out to every game and practice, rain or shine. Thank you to all the coaches, who put so much time and effort to teach our kids how to play the wonderful game of baseball. And to all our board members for a great year for our league. For the 2017 season, I would like to stay on as the T-Ball director but not for the Minor AA/Rookie Director. If I do stay on as Director for T-Ball, I have more changes to the programs I would like to do to keep improving the program.

Great year with an increase in players over last year – number went from 30 in 2015 to 47 this year; That made for 4 teams; Great volunteer support this year from parents – with great coaching staff – big thank you to our dedicated coaching staff, including a large number of assistant coaches who are so instrumental in helping our players develop; And we had great cooperation from other parents – getting players to practices and games early, keeping score, tracking pitch counts, and helping to supervise the players; Lots of players new to the sport and that meant the need for considerable practice time. We focused this year on skill development. Lots of skills to be developed at this level as the players learn how to pitch; Next year, there may be a renewed focus on organizing some interleague play for the teams; The four teams are currently in the middle of playoffs – exciting to see how close some of the games are and how much fun the kids are having; At least two teams participating in the Jamboree next weekend; Allstar team has been selected and practices are commencing this weekend with Clarence at the helm.

Major Director – Nathalie Michaud Major Director’s report 2016 Season East Park Little League My name is Nathalie Michaud and I am the director of the Major division for 2016. I started with the board last year as the Minor Director. This season we had less major players than the previous year. We had only 23 players and we were able to do only 2 teams compare with the 3 teams from last year. We were lucky enough to have coaches moving up from the minor division signing up again this year to help with coaching their kid’s team. Games were played on Monday, Wednesday and Sunday nights. nd The season started at Capilano Park on May 2 as Goldstick is available only after May long weekend. Monday nights were games between the two really well matched East Park teams. With only 2 teams it was decided to join the interleague games with Confederation Park and Community Park. The interleague games were all held on Sunday at Goldstick. The players enjoyed having competition from other teams. We could see a good improvement for most of the players through the season. Unfortunately we didn’t take part in any tournament as we had to cancel our own East Park tournament and we had not enough players interested in the May Long weekend tournament in Calgary. Both teams will take part in the Jamboree organised by D2 June 24 to 26. Should be a lot of fun. The All Star tryout for the Major division was Wednesday June 15. We have a team of 12 players. Practices are starting tonight for this team. The City Championships are a bit earlier this year so we won’t have much time to practice but I am confident they will do well. Have a good remaining of the season. Thanks Nathalie

Intermediate/Junior Director – Errin Kimball Seniors/Big League Director – Tyson Knoll Volunteer Coordinator – Kim Wong Safety Officer – Susan Derpack Good evening everyone, My name is Susan Derpack and I am the Safety officer/Director this year. I have been Safety Officer for the last 4 years. This year I have only had 3 reported injuries. All 3 injuries were very minor, one child took a ball in the chest while playing catch and was winded, one child took a ball to the wrist while batting and needed an ice pack and the third child was playing back catcher and took a ball to the bicep from the pitching machine and just needed an ice pack to keep it from leaving a bruise. I would like to wish all our players good luck in All stars coming up. Also would like to say thank you to all the coaches and managers who have been there and are keeping our payers safe this year. I will be staying on the board as Safety Officer/Director.
