Points are awarded as follows - 3 Points given for each win - 1 point for tie - 0 points for loss *****RUNNING UP THE SCORE PENALTY***** Please Read!: Subtract 1 point for every goal when the game’s goal differential is greater than 4. - For example, a score of 7-1 means 1 point for the winner and 0 for the loser. Details: 3 Points for win minus 2 penalty points (7-1= 6 goal differential - 4 goal rule = 2 Penalty Points) - A score of 10-1 means -2 points for the winner and 0 for the loser. - A score of 6-3 or 6-2 means 3 points for the winner and 0 for the loser.
Championship Games: If the game is tied at the end of regulation: a) A 5 minute overtime will be played. All 5 minutes will be played. This is not sudden death. b) If still tied, play a second 5 minute overtime period. This overtime is sudden death. c) If still tied, a 5 player shootout. The shooters and goalkeeper can be from any players on the team. d) If still tied, sudden death shootout. Use players not in the original 5 until the team with the shortest roster has exhausted all players then use players from the original 5 if short on players. e) If still tied, now ignoring everything that happened in c) and d) above. The sudden death shootout will continue. But, all players on a team must take a shot before a player takes their second shot. For example: in c) players A, B, C, D, E took shots. In d), players F, G took shots and then the other team exhausted all their players. Now both teams start fresh, but all must take a shot before one can take their second shot. So if this team has 10 players, you could now in e) restart and rotate A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, A, … and the other teams e) rotation could be A, B, C, D, E, F, G, A, B, … All other AYSO rules will remain the same. Please refer to AYSO U10 division rules Tournament Director and AYSO Board Member will be final decision on any disagreements.
