SCSU COACH SCOTT UNDERWOOD: Scott Underwood is in his ninth season as the head coach at St. Cloud State in 2016. Underwood is the 12th head football coach in the history of Husky football. Prior to being named the St. Cloud State head coach, Underwood had been the defensive coordinator for the Huskies since 2001. In nine seasons at the helm of the Husky football program, Underwood has compiled a 6935 overall record. His win total is the second-most all-time at SCSU. He has placed SCSU among the nation’s elite NCAA Division II programs with NCAA tournament appearances in 2010, 2011 and 2013.

2016 Key Returners • The 2016 Huskies return 11 All-NSIC selections from last season. • The program brings back All-NSIC First Team selections Jaden Huff (RB), Jameson Parsons (WR), Craig Szymanski (LB) and Brady Westart (LB). All-NSIC Second Team award winners in 2015 who are back this fall include Bryce Johnson (OL), Mitch Knutson (DL) and Richardo Ramos (DL). All-NSIC Honorable Award winners back from 2015 are Jerry Duckworth (DB), Adam Josephson (LB), Grant Lewis (OL), and Nate Meyer (QB) • The team returns two-year starting quarterback Nate Meyer • Meyer threw for 2,851 yards and 22 touchdowns last season. • He became just the fifth quarterback in school history to throw more than 20 touchdowns in a season. • The team also returns leading receiver Jameson Parsons, who caught 61 passes for 1,272 and nine touchdowns as a junior. • Parsons became just the fifth receiver in the school record books with a 1,000 yard receiving season as a junior. • The squad’s leading returning rusher is Jaden Huff, who ran for 741 yards and 13 touchdowns as a sophomore. • On defense, linebacker Brady Westart paced the team with his 79 tackles and racked up 10.5 stops for loss plus 7.5 sacks. • Adam Josephson was steady on defense with his 71 tackles with fellow linebacker Craig Szymanski tallying a team-high 12 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks. • In 2015, SCSU charted 2,361 yards on the ground, while limiting opponents to 1,594 yards. In the air, SCSU gained 2,880 yards passing (194-318-12) and allowed 2,570 yards (202-350-9). The Huskies were able to outscore their opponents by a 389-255 margin including 238-113 in the second and fourth quarters. • The team brings back a total of 13 starters (six offense and seven defense) this season along with a total of 29 letterwinners, plus adds in 39 newcomers to the mix.

Last Time Out against Minnesota Duluth (10/10/15) • The Huskies put up a 15-point fourth quarter to rally, but still lost to then No. 25 Minnesota Duluth last season, 34-27. • The SCSU offense totaled 494 yards (424 passing). • Nate Meyer completed a career-high 33 passes for 424 yards. • The 424 yards passing is the third-most in school history. • The 33 completed passes was one off the school single game record. • Jameson Parsons caught eight passes for 163 yards and a touchdown. • Grant Thayer caught two touchdown passes. Parsons A CoSIDA Academic All-District Selection • For the second time in his career, receiver Jameson Parsons was a CoSIDA Academic All-District III selection. • Parsons has a 3.69 cumulative GPA as a biomedical sciences major at SCSU. • By being selected for the Academic All-District Team, Parsons will now advance on to the national level as he vies to be an Academic All-American for the second straight year. Last Game - Minot State (11/5/16) • The SCSU defense record the program’s first shutout in seven years (MSU Moorhead - 47-0 score - 10/31/09 - an 82 game stretch). • The program improved to 9-0-1 all-time against Minot State and are guaranteed to finish above .500 in the NSIC North for the fifth straight season. • The program set a new school record with 10 sacks against the Beavers. • The team broke the previous record of nine against Western Washington set during the 2005 season. • The program also got 13 tackles for loss in the game against Minot State (tied for the ninth--most in school history) and the most for the team since getting 14 tackles for loss against Minnesota Crookston during the 2012 season. • SCSU ran for 383 yards against the Beavers. • The 383 yards were more than the previous three games combined. • The rushing total was the most since the program ran for 394 yards against Minnesota Crookston during the 2014 season. • It was the 11th time the program has recorded 300 or more yards rushing the last six years and the first time since 368 rushing yards against Minot State last season. • The program put up a season-high 535 yards in the win and that was the most for the team since 552 against MSU Moorhead last season (10/31/15). • The team also recorded their first individual 100-yard rusher of the season as Jaden Huff ran for 232 yards. • Huff’s 232 yards rushing were the most for the program since Matt Birkel ran for 236 in 2002 against Omaha. • Huff’s 232 yards rushing was SCSU’s first 100-yard rusher in the last 11 games (Ledell White - 139 yards rushing against Northern State - 11/7/15). • Huff’s 232 yards rushing are the most in the conference this season and just out of the top 20 in all of Division II. • It was only the 17th 200 or more yard rushing performance in

Huff’s 66-yard rush was the longest run for the program since he broke off an 80-yard run against MSU Moorhead last season (10/31/15). Jameson Parsons caught nine passes for 153 yards in the contest to go over 1,000 yards on the season. It was only the seventh 1,000 yard receiving season in school history and the second time (Ben Nelson in 2001 and 2002) that an SCSU receiver has done it twice after Parsons topped the mark last season. The game was the 13th time that he has gone over 100 yards receiving the last two seasons (21 games). Parsons now has 126 catches for 2,297 yards and 16 touchdowns in his last 19 games. In two career games against BSU as a receiver, Parsons recorded 310 receiving yards. Jaden Huff ran for 92 yards and a touchdown in the game. Nate Meyer completed 19 passes for 219 yards, but was held without a touchdown pass for the first time in the last 16 games and for only the seventh time in his 32 games played. The game marked the first time this season that Parsons hasn’t either scored a touchdown or gotten 100 yards receiving. Parsons has scored a receiving touchdown in six of his last nine games and in 11 of his last 17 contests. Sam Hartman led the team with his 70-yards receiving. This game was the only time this season the program didn’t have a 100-yard receiver. Nate Meyer completed 16 passes for 229 yards and a touchdown. Nick Greenlund caught a pair of passes for 24 yards and a touchdown. Gary Koehring led the team with 12 tackles. NSU’s Nicholas Truen was the sixth individual to eclipse 100 yards rushing against the SCSU defense this season with 106 yards.
MSU Moorhead (10/15/16) - Notables • The Huskies ran the winning streak over MSU Moorhead to 10 straight with a thrilling 41-38 victory over the Dragons. • The team scoring 40+ points in back-to-back games was the first for the program since the playoffs wins over Henderson State (40-28) and Minnesota State (54-48) during the 2013 season. • SCSU improved its record to 3-0 in NSIC North play for the first time since 2012. • The program jumped out to a 27-0 lead and then saw the Dragons go on a 38-7 run before SCSU rallied with a touchdown with just

John Pass had a career-day with his 172 yards and a touchdown on eight catches. His 172 receiving is the 14th most in a single game in school history. Nate Meyer had another strong performance with 22 completions for 378 yards and three passing touchdowns. He also ran for 29 yards a touchdown. His four total touchdowns was the sixth time in his Huskies career that Meyer has accounted for four or more touchdowns in a game (four total touchdowns {three passing & one rushing} vs. MSU Moorhead in 2016; five total touchdowns {three passing & two rushing) vs. U-Mary in 2016; four touchdown passes vs. Minnesota Duluth in 2015; four total touchdowns {two passing & two rushing) vs. U-Mary in 2015; four total touchdowns {two passing & two rushing} vs. Minnesota Crookston - 2014; six total touchdowns {four passing & two rushing) vs. MSU Moorhead - 2014). The 629 yards allowed on defense was the most the program has allowed since giving up 637 to Minnesota State in the 2013 NCAA Division II playoffs. The program is 3-0 in each of the last three games in which the defense has allowed 600 or more yards. MSU Moorhead’s offense put up 464 yards through the air. The 464 passing yards was the most allowed by the program since the 505 passing yards to the University of Mary at the end of the 2014 season (11/15/14) in a 55-44 victory.

The 78 rushing yards allowed to U-Mary was the least amount of yards given up on the ground since the end of last year also against the Marauders when the defense allowed 67 (11/14/15) The 111 yards passing was the fewest the program has given up since surrendering 100 against Minnesota Crookston during the 2013 season (10/12/13). The 189 yards given up in total was the lowest allowed by the defense since Augustana accumulated 162 yards of total offense during the 2013 season (9/28/13).
Minnesota Crookston (10/1/16) - Notables • The Huskies were able to defeat Minnesota Crookston for the 13th consecutive time by a 28-7 score. • The 28 points scored was the first time that the program had not scored at least 30 points against the Golden Eagles. • Jameson Parsons led the offense with his seven catches for 125 yards and a touchdown. • Parsons’ 125 yards was his sixth time over 120 yards receiving in the last 13 games. • Parsons had a career-long 71-yard reception in the game. • His previous long was a 69-yard reception against Minnesota State (9/17/16). • Nate Meyer was 15 for 22 for 248 yards and two touchdowns • Jaden Huff ran for 65 yards and a touchdown. • Joe Blando ran for 49 yards and the first touchdown of his career. • Carvel Graham picked off his third pass of the season. • The Huskies defense limited UMC to 227 yards total and 86 yards rushing in the victory. No. 19/21 Minnesota State (9/17/16) - Notables • The Huskies fell to Minnesota State by a 45-12 score in the team’s Celebrate! Season Notes • Jameson Parsons tallied three 40+ yard plays in the opening game and has a total of 19 20+ yard plays after the first 10 games of this season. • Forty-three of Parsons’ 66 catches this season have gone for first downs or touchdowns. • John Pass has seen 27 of his 35 catches resulting in either a first down or touchdown. • Gary Koehring has recorded 54 stops on running plays this year to be the squad leader. • Jamari Mauel lead the team with 22 tackles on passing plays • Trevor Naslund had a career long 52-yard punt against Sioux Falls (9/1/16) • The Huskies extended their streak to 28 straight games since they were last shutout (9/20/14 vs. Sioux Falls) • Parsons’ 66 catches this season are already the sixth-most in school history for a single season. • Parsons’ 1,078 yards receiving are the fourth-most in school history. • The nine games this season, prior to Jaden Huff reaching the mark against Minto State, without having at least a 100-yard individual rusher was the longest during the Scott Underwood era. • The previous long was when it took until the fourth game against Upper Iowa during the 2014 season (Ledell White - 129 yards rushing) and also the fourth game during the 2011 season (Donte Steward - 134 yards). • The Huskies have ran for 1,1177 yards this season and are averaging 117.7 yards per game rushing. • The only SCSU teams over the last 15 years to run for less than 1,000 yards in a season were the 2007 team (999 yards rushing) and the 2001 team (626 rushing yards for the season).

Meyer’s 2,851 yards passing was the fourth-highest single season total in school history while his 190 completions were the fifth-most in the record books. Meyer’s average of 9.1 yards per pass tied him for the fourth-best in school history in a single season. Meyer’s passing yard average of 259.2 per game ranked second in the school single season record book.

Inside the Numbers - 2015 Player Notes • Jameson Parsons led the NSIC in receiving yards with 1,272 yards and with his averaged of 115.6 yards per game. His receiving total was the second-most in school history for a single season. His 115.6 receiving yards per game placed him fifth nationally. • Parsons also placed third in yards per reception (20.85), fourth in the league in receiving touchdowns (9), fifth in all-purpose yards (117.82) and sixth in receptions per game (5.5). • He became just the fifth player in school history to total 1,000 or more receiving yards in a season. • Jaden Huff ranked second in the NSIC with 13 rushing touchdowns. • His 13 ground touchdowns placed him seventh on the single season list at SCSU. • Brady Westart placed third in the NSIC with his average of 0.68 sacks per game and ninth in solo tackles (4.5) • Nate Meyer was third in the NSIC in yards per pass attempt (9.14), passing efficiency (153.2) and passing yards per completion (15.01). He was fourth in total offense (298.40), fifth in completion percentage (60.9), passing touchdowns (22), passing yards (2,851), passing yards per game (259.2), point responsible for (178), eighth in completions per game (17.27) and 11th in rushing touchdowns (7). • Meyer became just the fourth different SCSU player to throw for
