Thursday, March 31 Heptathlon: Arkansas’ Taliyah Brooks won the heptathlon with 5,991 points, finishing just ahead of teammate Payton Stumbaugh (5,985). In fact, Arkansas occupied the top three finishes, as Alex Gochenour – the 2015 champion in the event – finished third with 5,833 points. University of Texas’ Ashtin Zamzow set a new school record with 5,829 points in the event. Both Brooks and Stumbaugh eclipsed the 5,900 point mark, which is good to qualify for USATF Olympic Trials. Men’s Hammer Throw: NIKE’s AG Kruger won the hammer throw on the men’s side with a toss of 73.54m (241-03). Kruger’s throw was the third-best all-time in the Texas Relays for a winner. Purdue’s Chukwuebuka Enekwechi had a second-place throw of 67.96m (222-11), the longest throw for a collegian at the Texas Relays since UCLA’s Alec Faldermeyer won in 2013 by throwing 228-10. Kruger’s throw of 73.54m surpassed the 72.00m mark needed to qualify for USATF Olympic Trials. Women’s 800 Meters: Running unattached, former Longhorn Kendra Chambers won the Women’s 800 Meters in a time of 2:04.53. Women’s 3,000-Meter Steeplechase: A new Texas Relays record was set when Rachel Johnson of Asics ran a 9:55.16. Johnson trumped the previous record which was set last season by Mary Goldkamp of adidas/Rogue. Men’s 3,000-Meter Steeplechase: Aaron Fletcher, a senior from Brigham Young, won the Men’s 3,000-Meter Steeplechase with a winning time of 8:47.20. Men’s Decathlon: Stanford’s Harrison Williams turned in an impressive performance in the Men’s Decathlon, totaling 7,842 points to win going away. He defeated his next closest competitor by nearly 400 points, missing the Olympic Trial qualifying mark by less than 60 total points.

Friday, April 1 Women’s Triple Jump: Texas freshman Asa Garcia won the women’s Triple Jump A division with a jump of 13.29m (43-0.75). Her jump was the top collegiate jump of the season thus far, heading into the weekend. Men’s Triple Jump: Tec de Monterrey senior Alberto Alvarez won the Men’s Triple Jump A division with a distance of 16.86m (55-03.75). Men’s Javelin Section A: Texas A&M’s Ioannis Kyriazis won with a top throw of 81.78m (26807). His throw was the eighth-best all-time by a collegiate and the top throw at the Texas Relays since USC’s Corey White threw a 272-2 to win in 2009. Women’s Sprint Medley Relay: Arkansas won the Women’s Sprint Medley Relay for the second consecutive season. After setting a meet record in the event in 2015, the Razorbacks ran a 3:52.40 to win in 2016. It was their fourth win in the event all-time. Men’s Sprint Medley Relay: Texas A&M took home a victory on the men’s side in the Sprint Medley Relay with a time of 3:17.62. It was the Aggies’ first victory in the event at Texas Relays since 2011 and their fourth in school history. Women’s 400 Meter Hurdles: In the invitational race, Ashley Spencer of Nike won with a time of 56.80. Texas’ Ariel Jones won the University race with a time of 57.17. It was the third time in the last four years that a member of the Longhorns’ program has won the event at The Texas Relays. Men’s 400 Meter Hurdles: In the University division, Arkansas’ Larry Donald won with a time of 50.91. He became the first Razorback to ever win the event at The Texas Relays. On the invitational side, Texas’ Byron Robinson was victorious with a mark of 50.48. Women’s Distance Medley Relay: In one of the more exciting races thus far in The Texas Relays, Clemson overtook Texas on the final lap to win the Distance Medley Relay in a time of 11:28.23. It was the Tigers’ first-ever win in the event at Texas Relays.

Men’s Distance Medley Relay: Texas A&M won the Distance Medley Relay for the second consecutive Texas Relays with a 2016 time of 9:51.79. The Aggies have won three Distance Medley Relays since the 2012 season at The Texas Relays.
