Thursday, March 29 Men’s Hammer Throw: Georgia’s Denzel Comenentia set a meet and Myers Stadium record with a throw of 76.29 (250-3). It was the ninth-best throw by a collegian all-time. The previous Texas Relays and Myers Stadium record was owned by SMU’s Libor Charfreitag (75.15, 246-6) in 2000. Friday, March 30 Women’s Triple Jump: Tori Franklin (unattached) set the meet record with a jump of 14.48 (476.5) to win the event. The mark is No. 2 in American history behind Keturah Orji’s mark of 14.71 set in 2016. The previous meet and facility record was owned by LSU’s Keisha Spencer (2000) with a mark of 13.97 (45-10). Women’s 400-meter Hurdles Invitational: Former Texas Longhorn Ashley Spencer ran a 56.43 to set a new Texas Relays record. She bested TaNisha Mills’ (Sheffield Elite) previous mark of 56.54 set in 2005. Boys’ Javelin Throw: Parkview Baptist senior Tzuriel Pedigo set a new meet record with a throw of 234-11. The previous best was owned by Pedigo, a toss of 204-8 set last year.
