201608 EYH Board Minutes
Board Meeting minutes: August 10th, 2016 In attendance: Jen, Mark, Dani, Kirstin, Crystal, Luke, Brad Secretary’s Report – Minutes Approval Motion made by Brad 2nd by Crystal. Motion carried Recruitment & Retention: EYH free skate was discussed. Need as many coaches on the ice as possible. USA Hockey free skate is November 12th from 12:00 – 1:00 again, would need as many coaches on the ice for this as well. Discussed having HS players and Storm players on ice for these events as well. We would like to have Mini Mite equipment handout Nov 12th from 2:00 – 4:00 to coincide with the free skate. HOC update: No report Ice Schedule Update & Storm Update: Storm game dates are set. Practice is set to start October 3rd. Games begin November 5th. Conversation about the start time of our season and the impacts that a first week of October start has. Manager of Manager Topics: Concussion testing update. 16-17 kids were tested. Looking for another date for those that couldn’t make it. Volunteer update: 3 on 3 volunteer opportunities will be posted soon
Advertising: Jen met with Cheryl to get up to speed. Printed letters and will send out notices to advertisers regarding what is due. We will have the entire back wall for signage in the future. Fundraising: Need a ticket spinner for the raffle drawing.
Discussed the selling of extra raffle tickets. Tabled this topic for the current season. More exploration needs to happen on this topic before next season. Misc Topics Discussed the possibility of a Co-Op with Merrill for the Bantam level. Luke will contact the EYH bantam families to find out our numbers at the bantam level and to see if those families feel a co-op is needed. ACE position. The board reviewed the applications for the ACE position. A motion was made by Brad and seconded by Crystal for Jacques du Vair to serve as the EYH ACE for the next 3 years. The motion carried.
