Nursery Available for all Services PARENTS As Gadsden Street is a Safe Sanctuary Church, we ask that you remember that children under the age of 18 need an adult to accompany them anytime they are in the hallways or restrooms. No one should be in these areas during worship or other activities without parental supervision. This is a Safe Sanctuary guideline and is put in place for their protection and safety. Thank you for your cooperation. USHERS FOR APR 10:30 am Captains meetings first Sunday at 9:45 am Don Smith Captain Ron Baughman Dorothy Lister NURSERY & CHILDREN’S ACTIVITY BAGS Our beautiful nursery is available for infants and children. “There is no need for me to write to you about this service to the saints. For I know your eagerness to help, and I have been boasting about it to the Macedonians, telling them that since last year you in Achaia were ready to give; and your enthusiasm has stirred most of them to action.” (II Corinthians 9:1,2) In his letter to the church in Corinth, Paul is bragging about the folks in Achaia. He’s bragging about their generous spirits and all of the ways they’ve given toward helping brothers and sisters in Christ in need. These folks in Achaia have generously given of their resources for the privilege of sharing in God’s work. Let me just say the folks of Gadsden Street UMC are right up there with the folks in Achaia. At our final Costa Rica Mission Team meeting in early April, the team members each shared one way they’ve seen God at work, one thing they’ve learned about God throughout our months of planning and preparation together. First of all, it was hard to limit our sharing to only one glimpse of grace, as God has so richly blessed us every step of the way. However, over and over again, team members shared the ways they are aware this mission to Costa Rica is about so much more than the 11 of us traveling to Costa Rica. Along the way more than 54 folks have chosen to invest in this kingdom-building opportunity! That is beyond amazing! We are so grateful for every gift, of every size, for together each gift has helped to make this mission experience possible. Along the way folks have so generously given of their time and energy cleaning out closets and storage spaces bringing items for our Costa Rica Mission Team Giant Yard Sale. So many folks helped us clean up and clean out for the yard sale. Others gave so generously of their time in helping us to sort, price, set-up and sell. In the process our “trash” (well, at least stuff we don’t need any more) became a treasure. Along the way folks have bought BBQ plates and pancakes. And now, so many of our brothers and sisters in Christ will be praying for us as we head to Costa Rica. So many people, in so

many ways are an integral part of this kingdombuilding, hands-on ministry. It is humbling to count the many ways so many other people are a part of what God is doing in us and through us in Costa Rica. As you read this, the team is already on their way to Costa Rica. We will be visiting an orphanage, taking them a set of books and sharing the love of Jesus. We will be working in the Give-A-Book warehouse preparing books to be distributed to schools and communities in need throughout Costa Rica. We will have the privilege of delivering books to five different schools, and with each stop, with each delivery of books, with each opportunity to share the love of Christ in person- all of you are there! It is your gifts, your presence, and your prayers that have made all of this possible! Your Costa Rica Mission Team is joyfully anticipating this opportunity to serve and we look forward to sharing with our faith family after we return, all of the amazing ways God is at work because of your spirit of generosity. Blessings, Pastor Gail
