he Coaches Golf Classic generates financial support to assist in covering program expenses such as academic services, life-skills development, team travel and operational costs. Your participation and sponsorship in the Coaches Golf Classic is an investment not only in the rich tradition of SUNY Oneonta Athletics, but in the future of our student-athletes. Please join us on July 15th, 2017 Participation in Oneonta athletics has been a privilege. Although running is commonly seen as an individual sport, it has been the team competition and environment of running that have fostered the most opportunities to grow for me. It is one thing to compete against oneself, trying to run a personal best time or trying to hit a standard within your event, but it is completely different when one understands and takes pride in the success of their teammates. When one of us wins, we all win. It is said that “steel sharpens steel” and this seems to be true with Oneonta athletics. Together we have celebrated, encouraged and pushed each other toward our potentials, constantly expanding our definition of excellence with the addition of new goals and achievements. The character traits that I have obtained and sharpened within this program will continue to guide me in my personal and professional life in the years to come.
