Letter from the President Happy February to all. Our February meeting on the 16th has a long time COPRIMA member, Kenny Smith from One Beacon speaking on “Who is the Most Distracted Driver in your Community?” Now that’s a question!! At times I am not too sure with all the people on the roads doing such interesting things except driving! I think I know the answer but I look forward to Kenny filling us in. The conference planning is really coming along. We had a great session after the last meeting and there were so many creative ideas and they just kept coming. We will have the website up shortly to start registration. Of course, Brennan will take those sponsorships any time!! Just give him a call. As many of you have heard, Cathy Lutzkanin, our Vice President, has left Arapahoe County to take a position in the private sector. That left an opening on the board. As we had more than one person interested in a board position at the end of the year we thought we would just include everyone. Therefore, your new Vice President will be Jason Smitherman, Risk Manager for the City of Loveland. I want to thank Jason for stepping into this position and we will try not to work him too much the first year anyway. We also want to invite any government member who would like to help with the conference to attend the conference committee meeting right after our regular meeting. Any ideas are welcome. I also would love to have your ideas for meeting topics, good sessions you have seen, good speakers or just burning ideas to make our future meetings valuable and helpful. Our education committee, Doug Clark and Steve Bedard are on the lookout for topics to help us in our daily challenges. Remember to renew your membership for 2017 if you have not already done so. Have a great and safe February. Kathy Kvasnicka, Your 2017 President
