SHARE SIZES AND TYPES
Veget able Sh ar es
Vegetable shares are available in two sizes, small and large. Small shares are intended for 1-2 people. Large shares are intended for families of 3+. All of the produce for small shares is limited, meaning there won't be any unlimited already picked produce; however, small share members may pick unlimited amounts of peas, string beans, and tomatoes. Large shares will receive limited amounts of certain produce, with some options being unlimited (what your family can use in a week) such as potatoes, summer squash, garlic scapes, etc. Large shares also have the option to pick their own unlimited tomatoes, string beans, and peas. Both small and large shares will have access to the u-pick flower patch and herb bed. The amount of flowers and herbs allotted will depend on growing conditions. Our asparagus is ready in May, but vegetable share pickups don't begin until strawberries ripen in June. Vegetable share members may purchase asparagus in May at a 20% /lb. discount. We will e-mail you when the asparagus is ready. Vegetable share pickups will begin in June, as soon as strawberries are ripe. This is typically the 2nd or 3rd week of June. W HAT DO W E GROW ?
W HAT IS A CSA? CSA stands for "Community Supported Agriculture". A CSA creates a unique, mutually beneficial partnership between members and farmers. In our certified organic CSA, members pre-pay a set amount at the beginning of the growing season. In return, our members receive 21 weeks of freshly picked, seasonal, organic produce. This provides us, the farmers, with start up revenue to begin the season with, and gives you a stake in the farm, which contributes directly to the farm's success! Benefits to shareholders include: reduced cost of produce, weekly organic produce that is harvested fresh just for you, u-pick options on certain crops, and weekly newsletters including recipes and cooking tips.
CSA PICKUP/ LOCATION TIMES CSA pickups for fruit and vegetable shares are held at our farm, which is located at 12866 Route 78, East Aurora, NY 14052. You may select either Tu esdays or Th u r sdays as your pickup day on the registration form. Whichever day you choose will be your day for the rest of the season. If you can't make it to your regular pickup, you may switch days if you let us know in advance. You may also have a friend or family member pick up your share. Pick u p t im es ar e f r om 3:30-6:30 p.m . on Tu esdays an d Th u r sdays. Please, no early birds or late comers! More detailed information about pickups will be emailed to you in early June before the season starts. In order to cut down on wasteful packaging, we ask that you bring your own bags/baskets to carry your produce home in. A cooler for greens is helpful in preventing wilted leaves. Our CSA is run "market style", meaning most of the fruits and vegetables will not be pre-packaged. If there's something you don't like, you can leave it! We also have a trade table, where you may trade vegetables with other members based on your preferences.

* We do our best to ensure the success of all our crops, but unpredictable weather can occasionally cause a small amount of crop failure. The amount of produce that we grow ensures that all shares will receive plenty of variety, even if a couple of crops don't thrive.
We are a certified organic, family owned and operated farm. Our farming methods are time-tested and bio-diverse. We do not use any herbicides, pesticides, chemical fertilizers, or genetically modified seeds. Instead, we rely on crop rotation, organic fertilizers, and lots of hand weeding to grow healthy fruits and vegetables for you and your family! Farming and all that it encompasses-nurturing the land we have been blessed with, raising animals humanely, and ultimately providing organic, nutrient dense food for our local community- is our passion. We hope you'll join us in our farming endeavors.
