2017 Irondale Summer Hockey Training Program ● Open to all MVI association and IHS and SAVHS players in grades 8-12. Coach Hayes is very cognizant of the developmental and physical differences between the average 8th grader and average 12th grader. ● Focus will be on individual skill development, rink awareness, puck support, team concepts, as well as enjoying the game of hockey. ● Summer Strength programs at home high schools should also be considered as additional training. Players will receive 27 hours of on-ice instruction with the possibility of more depending on possible scrimmages. See attached Schedules Players will be in mixed groups with consideration given to athletes who are multi-sport athletes who may have conflicting training. Consideration will also be given to balance numbers of forwards/defensemen and goaltenders. In unique situations, players may be asked to/able to participate in both sessions if need arises. Cost The cost for the program is $400*, with a $200 installment due by May 31. Complete payment must be received by June 15. *Coach Hayes does not want financial constraints to limit participation, please contact him directly to explore possible options.
