The Osseo Hockey Summer Training Program invites you to its 2017 summer training camp! We will be training again this summer at the Champlin Ice Forum. Osseo Hockey STP consists of 12 on-ice and off-ice training sessions conducted by Osseo Co-Head Coaches Kevin Willey and Mark Phenow and former Osseo Hockey player Sam Windle. Sam played college hockey at Bemidji State and currently plays in the ECHL for the Utah Grizzlies. On-ice training will include over-speed puck handling, shooting, passing, and skating skills. We will also play various small area games that encourage creativity, on-ice vision, and puck protection. Off-ice training will include several hockey specific core and plyometric exercises. All drills and training will reflect the team philosophies that are true to the Osseo High School Hockey Program promoting “blue collar” work ethics, sportsmanship, character, and leadership skills. There will be three groups again this year: high schoolreturners and incoming, peewees/bantams, and squirts/supermites. There are no special requirements to take part in our camp. This camp is open to any hockey player looking to improve their hockey skills and athleticism!
Coach Phenow played on Osseo High School’s 1994 state high school hockey team. After high school, he played two years of Junior A hockey before playing college hockey at Bemidji State University. He was a two-year captain and played in a then record of 135 consecutive games. After college, Coach Phenow played five years of minor-professional hockey across the United States. Coach Phenow is entering his 11th season coaching high school hockey, his 10th as Co-Head Coach. He has been an instructor with the summer program for 17 years. We take great pride in the Osseo Hockey program and are honored to be coaching at our alma-mater. We both have extensive hockey experience and were captains of our Osseo Oriole high school hockey teams. Coach Willey played collegiate hockey at St. John’s University where he was a two-year captain, team MVP, MIAC league Co-MVP, Most Inspirational, and All-American. Coach Willey is entering his 13th year coaching high school hockey at Osseo and 10th as Co-Head Coach. Coach Willey works as a special education teacher at Osseo Senior High and has been an instructor for the Osseo summer program for 15 years.

We, the parents/guardians of _________________________, agree that the Osseo Hockey Summer Training Program and/or its staff will not be held responsible for any accident or loss of personal property, however caused, and agrees to release the above parties from all claims of damages which may arise as a result of such accidents or loss. It is further agreed that all risks while watching and/or participating in the OHTP are assumed by the student and his parents and/or guardian and this assumption is acknowledged, approved by their signature hereto. We have read the foregoing, have explained its meaning to our player, and agree to the terms/conditions as stated. We the parents and/or guardian of the above signed applicant, give our consent to his/her participation in the Osseo Hockey Summer Training Program.
