2017 Legislative Priorities Interim Superintendent Dr. Jeannie Stone Board of Trustees

 Direct the state to use all funds collected from local school

districts M&O property taxes solely for the purpose of funding



public education for PreK-12 public schools without reducing the



State’s contribution to public education funding.

Index [CEI], transportation, bilingual, etc.) to accurately reflect

 Provide flexibility in required seat time to allow for non-traditional

instruction toward high school graduation. (Example: Dual credit



classes that meet on M-W-F, internships, alternative education where



coursework is accelerated for credit attainment (flexible diploma



plans), instructional delivery via technology, etc.).

 Allow for greater local control in school districts.  Provide funding for high-quality, full-day Pre-kindergarten.
