Federal Legislative Priorities 2017 PSTA Priorities FTA Small Starts Funding for St. Pete to Beach Central Avenue Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Project • Federal New Starts funding support to clear funding availability for CABRT in FY2019. • Highest demand transit corridor in the Tampa Bay region. • Small Starts Application for $8-10M to be submitted in mid 2017.
Increase Federal Investment in Transit Infrastructure • Continue and increase TIGER, Bus and Bus Facilities LoNo, Sandbox, and other transit investment programs.
Count Uber/Taxi Connecting Rides • Ask FTA to allow for innovative first-mile/last-mile connecting service ridership to count as transit ridership in the formula calculations for future transit capital funding (NTD).
Support Multimodal Infrastructure Investment • Advocate for public transit’s job-creating impacts to be recognized and funding opportunities for all modes of transportation be offered including public transportation. • A multimodal infrastructure investment will improve our local economy.
