2017 RMAC CROSS COUNTRY: WEEKLY RELEASE - WEEK 6, OCT. 11 ANETA KONIECZEK WESTERN FR. | ZBASZYN, POLAND Konieczek led Western to victory at the Fort Hays State Open, her second race of the year. Of the 165 women in the field, only one managed to beat Konieczek. She finished in second place with a time of 18:15.9, averaging 5:52.7 per mile in tough conditions. She was the top RMAC finisher.

CHANDLER REID ADAMS STATE SR. | LAFAYETTE, COLO. Reid was second at the muddy Fort Hays State Open, leading all RMAC athletes, with a time of 24:52.4, averaging 5:00.2 per mile. He led Adams State to a second-place finish.

Konieczek finished third individually in the 6K at the 2016 RMAC Cross Country Championships with a time of 22:39.01. She was the runner-up at the NCAA South Central Regional Championship. Her perfomance helped Western finish third at the NCAA DII Cross Country Championship, where she took 11th place with a time of 20:45.1. Her efforts landed her a first team All-RMAC and first team All-Academic spot last year.

SYDNEY GIDABUDAY ADAMS STATE JR. | ORANGE, CALIF. Gidabuday was named RMAC Runner of the Year last season. He finished first individually in the 6k at the 2016 RMAC Cross Country Championships with a time of 25:16.68. With a time of 31:27.8 in the 10K at the 2016 NCAA South Central Regional Championship, he helped Adams State secure a second place spot. Adams State took first place in the NCAA DII Cross Country Championship, led by Gidabuday's fourth place finish in the 10K with a time of 29:56.8. He made first team All-RMAC last season due to his efforts.
