RULES AS DISCUSSED AT THE DIVISION MEETING
Gameplay [Ground Rules] rules should be discussed by each managing coach prior to the game beginning.
SET RULES These Rules cannot be deviated from • • • • • • • • •
Pitching distance is 46 feet. Players who need to move closer to pitch may do so but cannot be closer than 43 feet. On balls hit to the OF, runners must stop once the ball reaches the IF Runners cannot advance on overthrows or other common mistakes that occur at this age level. A single should be a single, a double should be a double, etc. 10 Batters per Inning, Max. No Bunting of any kind. Players should swing-away No pitcher shall pitch more than 2 innings per game No Leads No Stealing
SUGGESTED RULES These Rules can be amended from game to game as each coach sees fit STANDARD GAMEPLAY • • • • • •
Games should last approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes. This may vary as the length of days change. 9 or 10 players can play in the field [4 Outfielders] Teams can play with 8 players OF should stay in OF. IF should stay in the IF Perpetual Batting Order is suggested for fair and equal play. Meaning the player that follows the batter who made the last At Bat in the previous game should be the leadoff batter. Whenever possible, hitters should not walk.
PITCHING •
Pitch Counts can be determined by any combination the coaches see fit. o In order to move the game along, each hitter should not receive more than 8 pitches, does not include foul balls. o Player pitches 4 Balls, coach comes into pitch. o 3 strikes is an out, combination determined by coaches prior to game.
