2018 Vertfest Clinics: 1PM-4PM Ice Climbing Description: Have you wanted to try ice climbing? This clinic will give you an introduction to the tools and techniques of steep ice, with an emphasis on movement fundamentals and terrain selection. We’ll take the lift up and descend briefly to the Drip; bring skis or snowshoes for the descent if you like. Taught by qualified guides. Learning Objectives:

Start Time and Place: Check-in from 8AM-12:45 at the NWAC tent at Alpental base (see image). Expected Destination: Alpental Drip
Sunglasses/eye protection Warm, full shank climbing boots (ski boots can work) Warm and waterproof clothing 2-3 pairs synthetic gloves Big parka for belaying/standing Optional: thermos, snacks
