26 January 2016 Parents’ Evening Reminder Another reminder that there is a parents’ Evening on Monday 1st February. We look forward to seeing you then.

New Parent Governor Due to work commitments, John Dale has resigned from his position as parent governor. We are very sorry to lose him and thank him for the time he has given to the school. This means that we now have a vacancy for a parent governor. If you would be interested in this position, please ask for a nomination form from the office. Forms should be returned by Monday 1 February. If more than one nomination is received, we will hold an election. Please talk to our current parent governors, Cath Sykes, Matt Simmons, Chris Dale or Winston Wong, if you would like any further information.

Clothing Bank Some of you will already have seen the yellow, charity clothing bank in the school car park. If you have any unused clothes, bedding, shoes or towels that you could donate to a very good cause, please bring them into school and deposit them in the bank. Shoes should be in pairs and clothing and other fabric items should be put in plastic bags to prevent them from getting damaged and wet. We are really looking forward to the first collection and hope we can fill it to the top. Thank you for your support with this.

Adult Bingo Evening As many of you know, the last social evening was a great success and therefore we will be holding another one on Friday 26th February from 7pm onwards. Entrance will be £5 per person and will be an adult only evening of fun.

General Attendance The school is required to report attendances to the Local Authority and other agencies. Where a child’s attendance is below 85% action can be taken to ensure that this is improved. Attendance also refers to punctuality. Lateness to school means that some children are missing registration, which is also marked down as an attendance issue. Letters will be sent home to parents to advise them that the attendance of their children needs improvement. Sport for Free—The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Centre

There will be a free open day at the leisure centre between 11am and 3pm on Sunday 31st January, where you will be able to try out Swimming, Climbing and Multi-sport activities. This is completely free, there will the be opportunity for you to make donations to Sport Relief.
