SENQU MUNICIPALITY NOTICE 42 / 2008 APPROVED 2008 / 2009 ANNUAL BUDGET AMENDMENT TO RATES AND TARIFFS NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Senqu Municipal Council has in terms of section 24 of the Municipal Finance Management Act, No 56 of 2003, approved its Annual Operational and Capital Budget on the 2"d June 2008. As required in
terms of section 17 of the Municipal Finance Management Act, the Budget, Integrated Development Plan and Supporting Documents were tabled and advertised for representations / submissions by the local community, Provincial and National Treasury on the 31st March 2008. All representations / submissions received before the 30th April 2008 were dealt with by council where after an
operational budget of R 76 525 928 and a capital budget of R 36 832 300 were approved. Copies of the approved 2008 / 2009 Annual Budget and supporting documents are available at the Lady Grey, Bark ly East and Sterkspruit administrative units of Senqu municipality.
Refuse Removal tariffs would increase by 40.00% as from the 1st July 2008.
Electricity tariffs would increase by 12.00% once approved by the National Energy Regulator (NER).
The Water Services Authority (Ukhahlamba District Municipality) has amended
Water and Sanitation tariffs as follow - Water Basic Levy increased by 49.00%, Water Consumption increased by 80.00% and Sanitation decreased by 9.31%. NOTICE 63 / 2011 APPROVED 2011 / 2012 ANNUAL BUDGET AMENDMENT TO RATES AND TARIFFS NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Senqu Municipal Council has in terms of section 24 of the Municipal Finance Management Act, No 56 of 2003, approved its Annual Operational and Capital Budget on the 3rd of May 2010. As required in terms of section 17 of the Municipal Finance Management Act, the Budget, Integrated Development Plan and Supporting Documents were tabled and advertised for representations / submissions by the local community, Provincial and National Treasury on the 11th March 2010 and 22nd March 2011 respectively. All representations / submissions received before the 21st April 2011 were dealt with by council where after an operational budget
of R 134 795 738 and a capital budget of R 39 173 400 were approved. Copies of the approved 2011 / 2012 Annual Budget and supporting documents are available at the Lady Grey, Bark ly East and Sterkspruit administrative units of Senqu municipality.
Refuse Removal tariffs would increase by 10.00% as from the 1st July 2011.
Electricity tariffs would increase by 20.74% once approved by the National Energy Regulator (NER).
The Water Services Authority (Ukhahlamba District Municipality) has increased Water and Sanitation tariffs by 10.00% as from the 1st July 2011.

Council's Rates Policy makes provision for certain rebates on Assessment Rates. Property
