an

kit contains...

alien sticker sheet

1 magic compost block

weird and wonderful plants that look as if they have come from outer space!

propagator tray and lid

how to use your alien invasion kit... 1

Pierce holes in the growing tray where marked, using a skewer, pencil or similar implement and place the magic compost block in the tray. Place drip tray under growing trays.

3

Place 3 straws across the tray to divide into 4 sections and plant your seeds, one variety to each section, evenly across the surface of the compost and press in lightly. Cover with paper and keep in a warm place.

4

When seedlings emerge (usually 7-15 days) remove paper and keep compost moist. Move to a warm, well lit windowsill.

2

Moisten the compost block with water and watch it expand. Add more water if necessary. Break up the compost, level off and firm down.

5

As the seedlings grow, you will need to transfer them into larger trays or pots (Fun to Grow pots are ideal)

Plant my seeds from April to June to flower the following summer. I have freaky fringed flowers in many colours. Move plants from the kit into pots or trays when 5-8cm (2-3") high, one per 7.5cm (3") pot or 6cm (2½") apart in trays. Grow on and plant outside 23-30cm (9-12") apart, in June/July.

People call me the ‘Caterpillar’ plant but my seed pods are more scary than that! They are prickly, hairy and curly whirly – just right to frighten people. Plant my seeds April-June. Grow me like Weretors. Plant outside May-June 30cm (12') apart. See my seed pods form from July-September.

People tell me I am actually a ‘gourd’ but I prefer my extra terrestrial name. My fruits are not edible. Plant my seeds AprilMay, grow me like Weretors and plant outside in late May-June 90cm (3') apart. Pinch out the tips of my shoots when 4 leaves have formed.

Sometimes I am called Lovelies-bleeding because of my red tentacles. I think they sound as much of a mouthful as my real name! Plant my seeds April-June, grow me like Weretors and plant outside May-July 23-30cm (9-12") apart. Watch me grow to a height of 75cm (2½')
