PRIMARY NEWSLETTER

“Every moment, every day, every individual counts”

Friday, 30th November 2018 Today is Decoration Day with the School Hall due to be decorated with trees, stars and other craft items made by the children across Primary. We still have the excitement of the Christmas tree to be decorated by the children. We have also had children continuing to work on the 1st floor hoarding and also designing bird and bat boxes that will be installed as part of the Phase 2 build. In addition to the above, regular lessons have continued across the school and Nativity rehearsals have begun in earnest. It is a magical time of year and to see the children busily rehearsing and having so much fun has to be one of the highlights of the year. Then we have Christmas Fair preparations which are being organised by Mrs Shaw and a group of parents. Don’t forget this event takes place on Friday 14th December between 2.00pm and 4.00pm. Money raised will go towards our playground fund. The children have had great fun this week outside exploring the different games that can be played on the new playground markings. Finally once again this year we are supporting the Gap Project that runs out of Queens Road Baptist Church and their Reverse Advent Calendar idea, All pupils and staff across both sites are invited to bring in donations of food, toiletries, colouring pens, colouring books which will be donated to the Gap Project. This will be our way of giving an amazing Christmas Gift to the wider community within Thanet who are in need of help. This is the third year at Primary of supporting this and I know that as we have been in the two previous years we will be sending a very generous donation to the Gap Project.

Have a lovely weekend!

HEADTEACHER THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK “Good timber does not grow with ease. The stronger the wind the stronger the trees.” – ANON

Twas four weeks before Christmas, and all through the school Not a boiler was working and classrooms were cool. Mr Beard was all suited in his premises attire He hammered and pressed until the boilers did fire. The children were huddled all snug in their seats With visions of hot chocolate and other great treats. Mrs Curry in her Welsh kerchief, and Miss Mitchell in her Mack Were simply dreaming of their long Christmas nap. When out in the corridor there arose such a clatter, All the TA`s jumped up to see what was the matter. Away to the classroom doors they flew in a flash Something different had arrived with an almighty crash. In the light of the corridor all had become clear And two little elves from nowhere did appear. Trixie and Dixy were such amiable young chaps But it did seem they were here to cause somewhat of a mishap. The challenge in December is to see what they do But there is no doubt they are trouble through and through. Some tricks they will play and all should be aware Perhaps they will make an appearance at our own Christmas Fayre! So are you ready to be part of the fun? The run up to Christmas has just about begun. This week the newsletter is dedicated to all our staff who next week begin the long and exhausting final journey towards Christmas with all the activities and events that this brings.

December everyone is here. Let the fun begin. God Bless You All, Mr Mirams

COMING UP Year 3 and 4 will be having a ‘Magical Multiplication Medley’ Day on Thursday, 13th December. Children may come to school dressed in a mathematical (multiplication) theme. This could be, for example, one sock blue, one sock red, a blue skirt and red jumper or a shirt with a number on it (perhaps with a sticker to give a multiplication fact). Children will work practically to complete people multiplication and division and work with resources such as marbles, dominoes, base 10 and paint. BUILDING WORK—Progress to date…...
