Executive Headteacher: Mr Stephen Wheatley Head of School: Mrs Helen Wilson
5th January 2016 Dear Parents/ Carers, Welcome back to the start of this new term and to a new year. I hope that you all enjoyed very happy Christmas and New Year festivities and were able to make the most of time with family and friends. As well as marking the start of a new term and a new year, today we also begin the next chapter of the life of Divine Saviour School, as my temporary Acting Headship at Divine Saviour now becomes a permanent ‘Executive Headship’. Although it is a different title, it will be a continuation of the partnership that was begun back in June 2015, ensuring a continuity in leadership for our schools for the future. It is a great privilege to be able to serve the Divine Saviour community as Headteacher now and in the future on a long term basis; I am excited about the opportunities that it will afford both schools as we move forward. The teachers of both schools began the term together yesterday with a joint INSET day here at Divine Saviour at which we looked at the effective planning and assessment of RE, and at which as a Divine Saviour staff we looked at the continuing journey of our school from Good to Outstanding. It is an exciting term for both schools with much to look forward to, not least for Divine Saviour, the visit of Cardinal Vincent Nichols in February as part of our 50th anniversary celebrations. We also look forward to a joint fundraising project during Lent and the summer term as part of our commemoration of the Year of Mercy. I am sure that there may be some of you who would like the opportunity to know more about the future direction of the school and the plans of the governors and the senior leaders in school to help realise the vision that we have for the school; I will be writing to you later this week to invite you to a ‘cheese and wine’ evening with the governors and myself later this half term at which we will be able to share some of this with you as well as answer any questions that you might have. Please remember that my door is always open and I am more than happy to meet with you at any point should you have any concerns, questions or queries relating to your child’s time at school. I thank you in advance of your support of the school and of your child’s education in the coming term and I look forward to our continued partnership for the very best of all pupils at Divine Saviour Catholic Primary School. Kind regards, Stephen Wheatley Mr S Wheatley Executive Headteacher
