• Treatment  group  (14)  received  mobile   alerts  through  ReadyAthletes  App   3x/week  for  5  w eeks  related  to   identity  development • Control  group  (13)  received  placebo   messages  through  ReadyAthletes  App

Sample Messages • “Identity  development”  comes  from  exploring   possible  positions  in  t he  world  and  making  mature   commitments  t o  selected  ones.  Who  are  you   without  t he  ball?  What  have  you  explored  outside   of  y our  sport?  Today,  write  down  who  y ou  are   when  y ou  are  NOT  an  athlete. • Whether  it’s  in  sport,  classroom,  or  career,  “self-­‐ efficacy  beliefs”  determine  t he  degree  to  which  we   believe  w e  can  succeed.  These  beliefs  correlate   strongly  w ith  later  success.  A s  a  student  athlete  you   are  likely  t o  have  strong  convictions  about  y our   ability  t o  succeed  in  sport.  But  what  do  you  believe   about  y our  ability  to  succeed  in  college  and  y our   career?
