8 Absolutely Amazing Aquariums That Were Unfortunately Abandoned 22 Aug,2015 Travel & Adventure Once these amazing marine ecosystem spots were a big source of recreation. They had a large variety of aquatic species and many amusing options as well. These locations had massive aquariums and several recreational activities. Being one of the most popular tourist destinations, thousands of people used to come there to witness the miraculous glimpses of the manmade environment with alluring species. But unfortunately, many things went wrong and all these stunning sites are abandoned now. Financial crisis, lack of proper management, natural disasters etc. are the reasons behind their abandonment.
These beautifully designed massive fish tanks are no more now.
1. Coral World, Bahamas
Coral World was opened publicly in 1987 by Coral World International. This beautiful marine park is closed since the Hurricane Floyd caused a massive damage in 1999.
2. Old Cleveland Aquarium, US
Old Cleveland Aquarium was opened in 1956 by Cleveland Aquarium Society. When it was left abandoned, it became a training center for Cleveland Police Department. Later, in 2012 a new aquarium was constructed.
Cleveland had the world's longest sea-tube i.e. 145-foot.
Unfortunately, the old Cleveland aquarium was closed in 1985 due to financial crisis.
Now The Greater Cleveland Aquarium is built.
3. Sea-Arama Marineworld, US
This amazing marine world opened in 1965. It remained one of the most popular tourist destinations for decades.
Unfortunately, Sea- Arama was closed in 1990.
4. Lalbagh Botanical Garden, India
Lalbagh botanical garden contains more than one thousand species of flora and is one of the main tourist attractions in India. It was built in 1970.
The aquarium inside the garden is now abandoned.
5. Saikaibashi Public Aquarium, Japan
It began in 1960s and was operated for thirty years. In mid 1990s, it was closed.

Also called “Hiikuu Island”, Dolphin Island used to be the most loved destination for travelers. It has now turned
