Merit Badge Day Hosted by Santa Fe Springs Fire Explorer Post 811 Merit badges offered First aid All day class Fire safety and Emergency preparedness Half day classes. AM and PM sessions. Come learn these Skills from the pros. Classes will be taught by Fire Explorers, EMTs (emergency medical technicians) Off Duty Firefighters and Paramedics Date Saturday October 5th 2013 Time 0830 am to 4pm Event will happen Rain or shine! Location S. F. S. Fire Headquarters 11300 Greenstone Ave., Santa fe springs CA. 90670 Cost is $10 per Scout. includes instruction on chosen merit badge/s and lunch. Lunch will be Hot dog,chips,fruit and drink. Scout may bring a sack lunch but full payment for day is still reqiured.

This is a Fundraiser to help support the Fire Explorers yearly activities. Boy Scouts only No tag a longs please.

This is a working active fire station.

Scouts must be in CLASS A uniform, No sashes. Superman doesnt perfom rescues out of uniform! Scouts must provide Blue Card signed by your Scoutmaster.

Scouts must complete All badge requirements to earn the chosen Badge. Payment for the day does not quaranty a badge! If you leave class early you will not complete the badge! The Scout must Do the work this includes prerequisites for the badge. Refer to www.meritbadge.org and www.usscouts.org for Merit badge work sheets, very helpful! Our staff will be here to teach, mentor and observe the Scouts hands on ability to complete the badges offered. Read the merit badge book for your chosen badge, The Answers are in the Book, READ! If you dont do your homework/ Prerequisites we dont sign off your badge! Prerequistes for Each Badge are as follows on page 2.

First aid merit Badge , All Day Class. This class has a lot of information to cover. Bring your Boy Scout handbook. Merit Badge Book and Work booklet from www.meritbadge.org. The Scout will review and demonstrate rank related first aid sign offs. Requirement 2D Proof of Home First Aid kit. We will identify and review the application of the contents. If you don't know what it is , it doesn't belong in your kit! Small kits are best to carry.

Emergency Preparedness, offered AM and PM sessions. 1. Proof that you have earned first aid merit badge (copy of blue card, or signed in handbook) if you have not earned the First aid merit badge, you can only earn a partial for this class! 2 b,c. Using the workbook and your parents work on this requirement together, Your parent must sign your work book to get credit for this requirement. 8 a,b Scouts will take part in emergency mobilization drill during course. 8 c. Proof of home emergency / earthquake kit. often too big to bring to merit badge day. So a picture or note signed by parent will suffice. 9 a,b Home safety checklist completed in your home signed by a parent. www.meritbadge.org has this in the workbook.

Fire Safety Merit Badge offered AM and PM sessions. Prerequisite 6a complete a home fire escape plan and conduct a drill. Bring completed plan signed by a parent.
