A Summer with Holga

This is a SoFoBoMo book 2016. SoFoBoMo is a group event where photographers all around the world make solo photo books in PDF form, in 31 days, start to finish.

ABOUT THE PROJECT: In June my friend James from twoweekesinprovence.blogspot.de and northfloridapictures.blogspot.de gave me a Holga lens as a present. Perfect timing for my 2016 Sofobomo project: Seeing with the Holga lens, attached to my old Sony a200. I chose August as my fuzzy month since I did hope there will be enough sunny days. I was lucky. The project cover image over at www.sofobomo.com is one of the first photos I took with the Holga lens, in this case with the Sony a850. I took it Jul 2 in St. Martin de Castillon, France. The photos are right out of the camera. I only resized and compressed them. Didn't make sense to me to do any more editing or processing. For this project I chose photos that have the toy camera touch, not the ones that came out sharp and crisp ;-). They are presented in chronological order — made between Aug 7 and Aug 22 2016. Some I took at home, some at work, some during a Sunday afternoon walk. All photos © Martina Jackmuth 2016 blog.blackandwhiteandcolours.de

Summertime, And the livin’ is easy

Fish are jumpin’ And the cotton is high

One of these mornings You’re going to rise up singing

Then you’ll spread your wings And you’ll take to the sky

„Summertime“ lyrics by DuBose Heyward.
