AARP Safe Driving Class
Saturday, September 24th 10:00-4:30 Taught by: Lori White Cost: $20 for AARP members, $25 for non-members A Special AARP safe driving class will be offered at Sew Nice on September 24th. The six hour class will start at 10:00 and end at 4:30pm. This class is open to all ages. Lunch will be a half hour long and snacks will be provided during the two breaks. The class is still a bargain at $20 for AARP members and $25 for non-members. Checks should be made payable to AARP and a NYS driver’s license is required for this class. Crayon Quilt Blocks
Wednesday, September 7th 10:30-1:30 Taught by: Noël Briand Cost: $20.00 + supplies The youngsters will be back to school using crayons for drawing maps and many other creative activities. So it only seems right that we should be doing a fun project with crayons as well. Noël will show you how to get the designs on to the fabrics and then the real fun begins with working with the crayons. For the beginner and beyond.

Thursday, Sept. 22nd 10:30-2:30 or 5:00-9:00 Taught by: Donna Hanley Cost: $25.00 + pattern + supplies + Tucker Trimmer Donna has made up several samples of this fun and easy table runner one with a fall theme and two with Halloween themes. These runners can be made for any season and are perfect gifts. We do have kits available for the Halloween runners. So grab your Tucker Trimmer and sign up for a fun class, and get a head start on your Christmas gift list. For the Beginner and beyond.

Thursdays September 29th and October 6th 10:30-2:30 or 5:00-9:00 Taught by: Diane Marvin and Rhonda Turrell Cost: $40.00 + pattern + supplies You have all heard Diane say that she quilts - she doesn’t sew. Well she can’t say that any more!! She found a great fun and EASY pattern to make these great shirts. So now she’s bragging that if she can make them anyone can. With this pattern you can be wild and crazy or as reserved and tradtional as you would like, either way this really is a great shirt. For the Comfortable Beginner and beyond.
Sew Nice News ALERT! With the end of Summer rapidly approaching and the kids going back to school soon we have decided to have a grand celebration! September is National Sewing Month. September 9th is National Teddy Bear Day. September 10th is National Swap Ideas Day and National Sewing Machine Day and National TV Dinner Day. SO........ On Saturday, September 10th we are going to CELEBRATE!! * We have teamed up with Flora’s nephew Brian and his wife Cindy to provide Teddy Bears for their Huggy Bear Campaign. Brian and Cindy have organized a Non-Profit Charity to help victims of Domestic Violence. If you bring in a Teddy Bear to donate to The Huggy Bear Campaign you will receive 20% discount off your entire purchase! (The bear should be at least 15” high when it is sitting down.) Please go to http://www.huggybearcampaign.org to learn more about The Huggy Bear Campaign. Cindy will be at Sew Nice to give you much more information about their wonderful program. * We will be sharing some free projects with you and encourage you to bring some ideas to share with others. * Jeremy Loveland will be here to give you some easy tips to keep your sewing machine happy and running smoothly. * There will be a Teddy Bear Tea Party complete with refreshments for everyone. * And after all this excitement and shopping you will probably want to serve TV Dinners for supper.
What a fun shopping day for all and a great opportunity for those going to Retreat to get your last minute shopping done and at a great sale price as well!

Thursday, September 8th 10:30-2:30 or 5:00-9:00 Taught by: Diane Marvin Cost: $5.00 Requires: The Studio 180 Design Wing Clipper, Tucker Timmer and the Pickets and Quickets Technique Sheet Do you own several Deb Tucker tools? Have you forgotten how to use them? Diane will be doing a monthly class called Block Busters that will help you become reaquainted with your tools and the techniques for using them. All the blocks will finish at 12” so eventually you will be able to put them together as a quilt or tablerunners. You can use fabrics from your stash or perhaps new fabrics that coordinate. Either way this should be a fun time using the tools that most of you already own. For the Beginner and beyond.

Fridays, Sept. 23rd, and 30th, and Oct. 7th and 21st 1:00-5:00 Taught by: Diane Marvin Cost: $50.00 + pattern + supplies Now is the time for you to learn how to quilt. This Lucky Stars pattern will be your first quilt. Learn how to quilt and start having more fun than you can imagine. This quilt can be made any size from crib to king (although we suggest starting with the throw size) by using fat quarters. The color combinations are endless and we will be glad to help you select your fabrics.

Friday, September 9th 10:00am-11:00pm Cost: $10.00 Come join us for a crazy time of sewing, socializing, laughing, eating and just plain fun. Everyone works on their own projects. Friday Frenzie should be the highlight of your month. So don’t miss out on all the fun.
