PROFESSIONAL WORK HISTORY

Mr. Templin joined MAS in 2002 as a Senior Consultant to start their branch office in Los Angeles, California. From 1987 until 2002, Mr. Templin was a Certified Industrial Hygienist, Principal Scientist and Corporate Consultant at Law/Crandall. His experience includes numerous projects of significant magnitude and technical complexity. Prior to joining Law Engineering, Mr. Templin was Director of Asbestos-Related Services and Chief Industrial Hygienist for CTL Environmental Services, Inc. His responsibilities included preparation of proposals, contract specifications, and survey reports, project and personnel management, and program development, e.g., operations and maintenance, respiratory protection, and employee training , both for client and in-house use. From 1982 to 1986, Mr. Templin served as an associate industrial hygienist for the Cai/OSHA Consultation Service. His duties consisted of performing work place evaluations to identify potential occupational health hazards, preparing written reports to recommend appropriate control alternatives, conducting employee training programs for both client and Cai/OSHA personnel, and assisting employers in understanding and complying with Cai/OSHA requirements via seminars, office meetings and telephone consultations. Prior to joining Cai/OSHA, Mr. Templin was engaged as an industrial hygienist and, eventually, project manager for an OSHA "New Directions" grant administered by the University of Houston. His duties included developing and presenting employee training programs in occupational health topics throughout OSHA Region VI , preparing grant proposals, and managing the budget and personnel for the project.

Mr. Templin's experience encompasses all aspects of industrial hygiene practice, which is broadly defined as the anticipation, recognition, evaluation, and control of occupational health hazards. Mr. Templin has practiced this discipline in such disparate venues as manufacturing, commercial, retail, office, medical, and institutional, and has experience in academia, government, and private industry. SUB-SPECIALTY EXPERIENCE Indoor Air Quality

Mr. Templin has performed well over 100 indoor air quality assessments in a wide variety of settings, including medical facilities, retail department stores, office buildings, and hotels. These studies have been both proactive and complaint-driven in nature and have addressed such issues as mechanical system design, performance and maintenance; comfort-related parameters (e.g., carbon dioxide, temperature, relative humidity); air contaminants (e.g., dust, airborne fibers, formaldehyde, volatile organic compounds); bioaerosols; and legionella in water systems. Mr. Templin also served on the committee that developed and issued Law Companies' Work and Test Procedures for Indoor Air Quality. Industrial Hygiene

Mr. Templin has performed over 500 field surveys covering a wide spectrum of industrial hygiene and regulatory issues including recommending control alternatives, developing training for material safety data sheets, noise and hearing conservation and respiratory protection programs, and advising employers on interpretation of, and compliance with, regulatory agency requirements. His specific areas of expertise include ethylene dibromide, noise, lead, ethylene oxide, and indoor air quality. Mr. Templin has performed evaluations for lead exposure and made recommendations for control measures and regulatory compliance in such disparate venues as industrial plants (battery manufacturing, auto repair, and foundries), recreational facilities (indoor shooting ranges), and commercial/institutional/residential structures. His experience includes testing, health hazard assessment, abatement project design, technical specification preparation, and project management for lead-based paint removal from five bank branch facilities. Mr. Templin has completed numerous lead-related training courses and has been appointed to serve on LAW Companies' steering committee on providing lead-based paint consulting services. Mr. Templin also participated in the planning, scripting, coordination , and presentation of a conference on leadrelated issues sponsored by the California State University which was televised via satellite downlink to 50 sites representing over 21 states across the nation. Asbestos

Mr. Templin has performed building surveys, hazard assessments, project monitoring and reporting, and employee training with regard to asbestos, and has prepared recommendations for control alternatives, removal specifications, and operations and maintenance programs for numerous clients, including Hines Interests Limited Partnership, State of California, Universal Studios, Inc., Dodger Stadium, Shell Oil Company, Santa Fe Realty, City of Burbank, and Bakersfield City Schools. He has also devised procedures for performing spot removal of asbestos-containing fireproofing to be utilized in conjunction with the installation of fire sprinkler systems in high rise buildings, as mandated by Los Angeles City Ordinance. To date, these procedures have been successfully employed in three such buildings, all of them with high occupancy rates, in the Los Angeles area. Environmental Site Assessments

Mr. Templin has performed, participated in or managed over 50 Environmental Site Assessments (Phase 1), several of which involved coordinating survey activities conducted concurrently over a wide geographical area and under severe time constraints. His clients include Home Savings of America , Great Western Bank, Chase Investors Management Corporation and Bankers Trust Company. Special Projects

Pursuant to cost recovery litigation, Mr. Templin has participated in or managed several projects in which LAW, working in concert with building owners and their legal counsel, has collected samples of asbestos-containing materials for constituent analysis with an eye toward identifying the manufacturer(s). He has also prepared to offer expert witness testimony in these and other related cases (e.g., allegations of sick building syndrome, microbial infestation, personal injury, etc.). REGISTRATION
