10-12 Assorted Flannels*
Finished Quilt Size: 64” x 72” “WOF” = “Width of Fabric”
2/3 yard of each fabric
From each fabric cut (2) 10” x WOF strips for a total of (18) 10” x WOF strips. Sub-cut the (18) 10” x WOF strips into a total (72) 10” squares. *NOTE: Some collections have 10 flannels, some have 12. If you want to include all fabrics in a particular collection, you will end up with extra cut squares. To conserve fabric, remember that you will only need to cut 72, assorting them to your liking. Any leftover fabric can then be used for crafts, or coordinating pillows!

Queen Size
Cut (18) 8” x WOF strips. Sub-cut the strips into (72) 8” squares. Assembly 1. Place one 10” Block Back wrong side up on a flat surface. Center one 8” piece of batting on top. Next place one Block Front with wrong side down on top to create a block sandwich. Pin the layers in place (Fig. 1). Repeat to make (72) Block Sandwiches. 2. Sew across both diagonals of one Block Sandwich to sew the three layers together (Fig. 2). Repeat to make the (72) Block Sandwiches. 3. Arrange the blocks for the quilt top into (9) rows with (8) blocks in each row. 4. Place the two blocks, wrong sides together. Sew the blocks together using a walking foot and 1” seam allowance. Note: The seam allowance should stick up on the right side of the quilt (Fig. 3). Repeat to sew the blocks together to make (9) rows.
5. Place the two rows, wrong sides together. Sew the rows together using a walking foot and 1” seam allowance to make the quilt top. 6. Once the quilt top is complete, stitch around the outer edge of the quilt top 1” from the edge. 7. To make the rag edge, cut each seam allowance into ½” segments, making sure not to go through the stitched lines. Repeat on the stitch edge of the quilt top. 8. Once the entire quilt top is cut, wash and dry the quilt top to cause the edges to fray. You can wash it a couple of times to get a more frayed look. NOTE: A lot of lint comes off of the quilt when washed and dried. You can throw in a couple of towels with the quilt to help catch some of the lint. Also be sure to clean the lint from the machines between washings.
