Fabric B- Tonal – Light Blue 9754-0722 1 1/4 yards Cut (3) 2 ½” x WOF strips. Sub-cut the strips into (36) 2 ½” squares. Cut (4) 2 ¼” x WOF strips. Sub-cut the strips into (72) 2 ¼” squares. Cut (1) 4 ½” x WOF strip. Sub-cut the strip into (12) 2” x 4 ½” strips and (10) 1 ½” x 4 ½” strips. Cut (2) 2” x 42 ½” WOF strips. Cut (2) 2” x 25 ½” WOF strips. Cut (3) 1 ½” x WOF strips. Sew the strips together end to end with diagonal seams and cut (2) 1 ½” x 52 ½” strips. Cut (2) 1 ½” x 34 ½” WOF strips. Fabric C- Scales – Multi 9752-0750 Cut (1) 4 ½” x WOF strip. Sub-cut the strip into (6) 4 ½” squares. Cut (1) 2 ½” x WOF strip. Sub-cut the strip into (6) 2 ½” x 4 ½” strips.

Fabric D- Seaweed – Dark Blue 9751-0115 Cut (1) 4 ½” x WOF strip. Sub-cut the strip into (6) 4 ½” squares. Cut (1) 2 ½” x WOF strip. Sub-cut the strips into (6) 2 ½” x 4 ½” strips.

Fabric E- Bubbles – Green 9753-0114 Cut (1) 4 ½” x WOF strip. Sub-cut the strip into (6) 4 ½” squares. Cut (1) 2 ½” x WOF strip. Sub-cut the strip into (6) 2 ½” x 4 ½” strips. Cut (6) 2 ½” x WOF strips for the binding.

Fabric G- Swimming Fish – Dark Blue 9750-0748 3/4 yard Cut (3) 4 ½” x WOF strips. Sew the strips together end to end with diagonal seams and cut (2) 4 ½” x 54 ½” strips. Cut (2) 4 ½” x 42 ½” WOF strips. Backing9753-0120 Cut (2) 50” x WOF strips. Sew together and trim to make (1) 50” x 70” back.

Block Assembly 1. Sew (1) 2” x 42 ½” Fabric B strip to each side of the Fabric A panel. Sew (1) 2” x 25 ½” Fabric B strip to the top and to the bottom of the Fabric A panel. Trim the block to measure 24 ½” x 44 ½” to make the Center Block (Fig. 1). 2. Place (1) 2 ¼” Fabric B square on the top left corner of (1) 4 ½” Fabric C square, right sides together (Fig. 2). Sew across the diagonal of the smaller square from the upper left corner to the lower right corner (Fig. 2). Flip open the triangle formed and press (Fig. 3). Trim away the excess fabric from behind the triangle 1/4" away from the sewn seam. 3. Follow Figure 4 for the seam direction to add a 2 ¼” Fabric B square to the lower left corner and 2 ½” Fabric B squares to the upper right and lower right corners of the 4 ½” Fabric C square to make (1) Unit 1 (Fig. 5). 4. Repeat Steps 2-3 to make (6) Unit 1’s total. 5. Place (1) 2 ¼” Fabric B square on the left side of (1) 2 ½” x 4 ½” Fabric C strip, right sides together (Fig. 6). Sew across the diagonal of the square from the upper right corner to the lower left corner (Fig. 6). Flip open the triangle formed and press (Fig. 7). Trim away the excess fabric from behind the triangle, leaving a ¼” seam allowance. 6. Place another 2 ¼” Fabric B square on the right side of the 2 ½” x 4 ½” Fabric C strip, right sides together (Fig. 8). Sew across the diagonal of the square from the upper left corner to the lower right corner (Fig. 8). Flip open the triangle formed and press (Fig. 9). Trim away the excess fabric from behind the triangle, leaving a ¼” seam allowance to make (1) Unit 2. 7. Repeat Steps 5-6 to make (6) Unit 2’s total. 8. Sew (1) unit 2 to the left side of (1) Unit 1 to make (1) Block One (Fig. 10). Repeat to make (6) Block Ones total. 9. Repeat Steps 2-8 and use Figures 11 and 12 for fabric identification and location to make the designated number of Blocks.

Sew (6) assorted Blocks and (5) 1 ½” x 4 ½” Fabric B strips together, alternating them. Sew (1) 2” x 4 ½” Fabric B strip to each end of the strip. Repeat to make a second strip. Sew (1) strip to each side of the Center Block. Sew (4) 2” x 4 ½” Fabric B strips and (3) assorted Blocks together, alternating them. Sew (1) 4 ½” Fabric F square to each end of the strip. Repeat to make a second strip. Sew the strips to the top and to the bottom of the Center Block. Sew (1) 1 ½” x 52 ½” Fabric B strip to each side of the Center Block. Sew (1) 1 ½” x 34 ½” Fabric B strip to the top and to the bottom of the Center Block. Sew (1) 4 ½” x 54 ½” Fabric G strip to each side of the Center Block. Sew (1) 4 ½” x 42 ½” Fabric G strip to the top and to the bottom of the Center Block to make the quilt top. Layer and quilt as desired. Sew the (6) 2 ½” x WOF Fabric E strips together, end to end with 45° seams, to make the binding. Fold this long strip in half, lengthwise with wrong sides together, and press. Bind as desired.

Block Assembly 1. Sew (1) 2” x 42 ½” Fabric B strip to each side of the Fabric A panel. Sew (1) 2” x 25 ½” Fabric B strip to the top and to the bottom of the Fabric A panel. Trim the block to measure 24 ½” x 44 ½” to make the Center Block (Fig. 1). 2. Place (1) 2 ¼” Fabric B square on the top left corner of (1) 4 ½” Fabric C square, right sides together (Fig. 2). Sew across the diagonal of the square from the upper right corner to the lower left corner (Fig. 6). Flip open the triangle formed and press (Fig. 7). Trim away the excess fabric from behind the triangle, leaving a ¼” seam allowance. 6. Place another 2 ¼” Fabric B square on the right side of the 2 ½” x 4 ½” Fabric C strip, right sides together (Fig. 8). Sew across the diagonal of the square from the upper left corner to the lower right corner (Fig. 8). Flip open the triangle formed and press (Fig. 9). Trim away the excess fabric from behind the triangle, leaving a ¼” seam allowance to make (1) Unit 2. 7. Repeat Steps 5-6 to make (6) Unit 2’s total. 8. Sew (1) unit 2 to the left side of (1) Unit 1 to make (1) Block One (Fig. 10). Repeat to make (6) Block Ones total. 9. Repeat Steps 2-8 and use Figures 11 and 12 for fabric identification and location to make the designated number of Blocks.

Sew (1) 1 ½” x 34 ½” Fabric B strip to the top and to the bottom of the Center Block. Sew (1) 4 ½” x 54 ½” Fabric G strip to each side of the Center Block. Sew (1) 4 ½” x 42 ½” Fabric G strip to the top and to the bottom of the Center Block to make the quilt top. Layer and quilt as desired. Sew the (6) 2 ½” x WOF Fabric E strips together, end to end with 45° seams, to make the binding. Fold this long strip in half, lengthwise with wrong sides together, and press. Bind as desired.
