Advanced board stress analysis service
Forwessun continues to push the boundaries of advanced fixture manufacturing technology with the introduction of FlexGuard, our in-house developed automated fixture design tool integrating full Finite Element Analysis of board stress.
FlexGuard operates directly on board CAD allowing us to detect potential problems even before board design is finalised and long before fixture manufacture starts. FlexGuard enhances our DFT services by allowing us to highlight potential board and component breaking stresses at the earliest stages. In addition to its powerful analytical capability, FlexGuard is capable of automating fixture design.
FlexGuard is run on every Forwessun fixture and automatically calculates optimum pusher positions to minimise board stresses - making billions of calculations per pusher. This allows us to optimize the build process - reducing build times. In addition to the absolute board deflection, FlexGuard calculates the stresses placed on a board in Microstrains. We can visualise any strains on a board in 2D and 3D allowing us to immediately flag areas of concern. Customers who have seen FlexGuard tell us that potential problems are so clear when visualised in 3D that we are currently developing a standalone results viewer.
