Functional Test Fixtures Forwessun provide all types of functional test fixtures and complete solutions. Fixtures are custom designed to connect with all leading manufacturers of functional modules or can be standalone with electronics integrated inside the fixture housing Integrated Electronics
Standalone Test Fixture Below is an example of a stand alone test fixture with operator control buttons and top probing of the board under test.
Small Node Count Fixtures. Floating plate design protects the probes and ensures the contact is truly 90O vertical and is guaranteed to hit within 9 thou of the centre of each test pad. Forwessun provides a G10 mask with every fixture which can be used to verify test fixture accuracy.
Automatic Connector Insertion Pneumatically controlled connector insertion includes force monitoring and safety backoff.
Mechanical CAM Systems. If no factory air supply is available or the test location is required to be easily moved the fixture can be manually connected to the board under test using a CAM mechanism to engage the test probes.
External Instruments Rather than integrate custom test electronics inside the fixture, the wiring can be terminated at connectors for external benchtop instruments. This allows multiple fixtures to use the same test equipment.

Forwessun have the flexibility to build custom fixtures to a customers design in very short leadtimes and in any volume.
Flexguard. Forwessun Flexguard FEA software is used during test fixture design to identify and report all the forces and automatically position the push downs to protect the board under test and to ensure board flatness.

Advanced Fixture Manufacture - Quality Through Automation. We build quality into each stage of manufacture this starts with using the best materials. Drilling is performed on our Pluritec drill system. The four head system can handle multiple jobs simultaneously for heavy workloads. Probe & bearing positions are drilled on the Pluritec drill center with milling completed on one of 4 separate ROC routing stations.
Receptacles and probes are automatically inserted on one of our Insertion systems. This is achieved by a pneumatically driven, hydraulically damped 'touchless' process which guarantees probe tip accuracy.
Wiring is done on one of our semi automated wiring systems, each with real time verification for error free wiring. As the wires are added to the fixture a flying probe confirms that each wire has been connected to the correct position before allowing the wiring to continue.
When wiring is complete, the next stage of verification is performed on one of two flying probe wiring verification systems that confirm that there are no shorts or opens in the test fixture and that each probe connects to the correct interface position.
Once test fixture manufacture is completed and the fixture has been quality inspected, a test program engineer performance checks the fixture on the target test system. The engineer will run any available software against the target board. The programmer does not work for production and takes responsibility for the overall quality of the fixture. What this means for you is that we can supply you error free, high quality, high accuracy test fixtures, quickly and at the right price.
