CULVER ELEMENTARY PRESENTS

2016-2017 School Year

FALL DAILY APOLLO CLUBS (included in the tuition rate)

Arts & Crafts

Mondays: August 29th - December 19th

Does your child love the experience of creating something he or she can use, or making a work of art for others to enjoy? In Arts & Crafts Club, young Apollo students will learn many techniques to turn their ideas into reality under the guidance of our Apollo staff. Club members will use their creativity and imagination to make many objects for gifts, decoration, or their own practical use - you’ll be amazed at the fun craft works they bring home to you!

WORLD EXPLORERS

Tuesdays: August 30th – December 20th

Earth’s circumference is approximately 24,901 miles (40,075 km). That’s a lot of ground to cover! Fortunately, our Young Explorers club is up to the challenge. Students will learn about mysterious rainforests, towering mountains, sweltering volcanoes, exotic cultures, and many other wonders this amazing planet has to offer. Students also will learn about fun travel tips and the great explorers whose daring gave us the maps and charts we take for granted today. They will even learn a little bit about outer space, and the challenges they will face as future explorers of tomorrow!

Apollo Bricks

Wednesdays: August 31st – December 14th

Everybody likes to build! Creating new objects has always been at the core of human existence, and is one of the most rewarding and fulfilling activities for the old as well as the young. In our club, children will learn many basic building techniques and will be encouraged to put their imaginations and hands to work to make their ideas turn into reality.

STORY TELLERS

Thursdays: September 1st - December 15th

Although it may seem like everywhere your children turn there is a touch-screen calling them, there is still nothing that opens up the world of imagination and possibility like a good book. By reading both quietly and out loud, Story Tellers students will greatly improve their ability to determine meaning from the written word along with public speaking skills and listening skills. Watch your child discover more about the world through a book - great readers often become great thinkers!

BOARD GAMES ClUB

Fridays: September 2nd – December 16th

Whether in games of chance or games of skill, board games are an incredible source of fun, social interaction, and mental activity. Students in this club will play many of their favorite board games, and even learn some new ones to teach their parents. Kids will learn multiple strategies and styles of play from our Apollo staff for many timeless games that they can play with friends and family. Instructors emphasize the value of good sportsmanship and critical thinking along the way!
